Mated to a Werewolf

Chapter Three

Yesterday we went to the lake. Today is Saturday and tonight is the party. 

I wake up, head downstairs, and see the note my dad left me. 

"Had to leave early for Jacksonville, I'll be home tonight. Call me when you wake up. Love you beba." 

I call him like he wanted me to do and then I have breakfast. 

After that, I get bored and call Hunter, Face Timing him. When he picks up, he's all sweaty and without a shirt. 

"Working out?" I ask. 

"Ah... yea." He says with a smile. 

I squint my eyes looking at his shoulder to what looks like a few scratches. 

"Is that a scratch?" 

"What? Oh no, it's nothing. It's just... mud." He says shifting the phone. 

I look around him and see trees. "You in the forest again?" 

"Yea, the best place to work out and go for a run." He says and sits on a bolder. 

"Best place to get eaten by a wolf." I say rolling my eyes. 

He laughs. 

"So what's up?" He asks. 

"Nothing, just bored. Dad went out of town and won't be back till tonight." 

"Oh, want to come over? My parents have been asking about you because they haven't seen you in a while." 

"Yeah sure." I say, excited. 

"Alright, I'll pick you up in ten." 

We hang up and I go upstairs. I put on a soft pink sweater with jeans, sneakers, and my hair in a bun. I hear the honk of Hunter's car and I run out.  

"Hey, that was fast." I say. 

He smiles. "Yep." 

We drive to his huge house. There are always a bunch of people there. Hunter told me that they worked for his dad but they lived out of town so they tend to stay over. I think some even brought their families with them because there are always small children running around.  

(Nope, not strange at all.) 

His dad owns a bunch of stores and hotels. They are crazy rich but they are really nice and they have always been welcoming to me and my dad. 

We head inside and walk to his kitchen where children run out of, playing with a lady running after them. 

"Alph-..." The lady stops when she sees me. "Young master." She says bowing her head. Hunter smiles and takes my hand, pulling me to the kitchen. 

I don't pay it mind. I stopped asking questions a long time ago about how weird this all is.  

"Lilith my darling how dare you not come visit us sooner." Katherine, Hunter's mom says, giving me a hug. 

I smile. "It's Hunter's fault." 

"Oh of course it is, that boy will get it from me one day." His mom says looking at Hunter. 

Hunter squints his eyes at me and I hold a laugh in. 

"There she is, how are you beautiful?" Wesley, Hunter's dad walks in the kitchen. 

I smile and he hugs me. "I'm good." 

"Here sit, I made you guys some lunch." Katherine says sitting us down. 

Since the first time Hunter brought me here, they have always treated me like this.  

-Flashback- 

"Mom, dad this is Lilith, my friend, the one I told you about." Eight-year-old Hunter says. 

"Oh, the one you said you felt like you needed to protect?" His dad asks. 

Hunter nods smiling.  

His parents give each other a weird look and smile at me.  

"Oh sweetheart, come here." Katherine gives me a hug. 

"But she says she'll probably move soon because of her dad." Hunter says looking sad. 

I nod. "He is a lawyer, we are in town for a small case he has and then we'll leave again."  

"We can't let that happen." Katherine says looking at Wesley with concern. 

He shakes his head. "We won't. Who is your father? Give me his name." 

-End of flashback- 

That's how my dad and I set roots here. They gave him a permanent job. 

"Why did no one tell me that my girlfriend was here!" I hear Hayden yell. 

Hayden is Hunter's seven-year-old little brother and he has a tiny crush on me which I find adorable. 

"Because you are always trying to hog her all for yourself." Hunter argues with him. 

"She's going to be my mate!" Hayden yells at Hunter. 

"Hayden!" Hunter says with a warning tone. 

I squint my eyes at Hunter. "You are teaching him all that code stuff?" 

Hunter laughs like there's a joke I missed. 

"Stop it you two." Katherine says to both of the boys. 

"You ready Hayden?" Wesley asks.  

Hayden whines. "No, I don't want to go now."  

"Too bad, you have to." Hunter says with a smirk, teasing him. 

Hayden walks over to me and gives me a hug. 

"Wait for me, my love." Hayden says and I put my hand covering my mouth holding my laugh. 

"Hayden! Stop being so weird." Hunter says annoyed while both his parents shake their heads laughing. 

Hayden runs to the door but turns around before he leaves and squints his eyes at Hunter. 

"She's mine!" He says. He turns around and runs out with Wesley laughing and walking behind him. 

I can't hold it anymore and start laughing and Hunter rolls his eyes. 

"Poor boy is going to be crushed." Katherine says lowly. 

We head upstairs to Hunter's room, well more like three rooms in one. His room is huge.  

"Did everyone get home safe after the lake?" I ask. 

"Yea, everyone went home right after we left."  

I lie on his bed. "Why are there so many wolves in this town?" 

He shrugs his shoulders and looks away. 

"Oh, so I heard that Nina did this party just to hook up with you." I say sitting up. 

He looks back at me and smiles. "Really?" 

I nod. "And that she and her best friend Amber had a fight because Amber also wanted to hook up with you." 

He chuckles. "Well, I've never had two at the same time but I'm game." 

I cringe and then roll my eyes, regretting starting this conversation. 

"Videogame?" He asks. 

"Yep." 

We start playing Mortal Kombat XL. 

"You are a cheater!" He yells. 

I shake my head. "Hey, if it's in the game then it is allowed!" 

"No!... you... there is no honor in jumping over and over again, making the same move right from the start." He says annoyed. 

"Okay fine, let's play something else." I say 

He switches to his Nintendo switch and we play Mario cart deluxe eight. 

"Lil! Stop cheating! You're doing it on purpose." He yells. 

I laugh. "What gives you that idea?" 

"You literally had the opportunity to go past me but you stayed behind my car shooting at me!" He says agitated. 

I giggle. "Stop being a sore loser." 

"That's it!" He throws the control on the bed. He quickly grabs me from behind and tickles me.  

"NOOO! STOOP!" I yell, not being able to control my laughter.  

"This is what happens to cheaters." He says still tickling me. 

"HAHAHAHAH STOP HAHAH NO MORE! HAHAHA I"M SORRY!" 

He stops. "Yea you better be." 

He lets me go and I lie on the bed completely out of breath with him lying next to me. I close my eyes trying to regulate my breathing. I feel his eyes on me so I look at him. He is staring at me like he is studying my face, looking a little confused.  

"What?" I ask softly. 

He stares at me a bit longer and then smiles. "Nothing." 

I look at the time on my phone and then turn my head to him. 

"Take me home, I have to do some chores and then get ready for the party." 

"Okay." He says getting up. 

We get up, I say goodbye to his mom and then he takes me home. 

"I'll pick you up at seven." He says while I get out of the car. 

"Alright, don't be late." I say pointing at him. 

He smiles. "Never."  

I shake my head watching him go. "Never my ass." 

I go in and start doing some laundry and cleaning up a bit. My dad works too hard, I don't want him to come home to a dirty house. After I finish, there are still hours till the party so I decide to take a nap. I am woken up by my phone ringing. I look at it half asleep. 

"Unknown?" I sigh. 

"Hello?" 

"Hello, Lilith?" A girl's voice comes through and I cringe. 

I sigh annoyed knowing what this is for. "Yea, who is this?" 

"Oh, this is Sarah. We take History together." The girl says. 

"Oh, yeah, and you've always ignored me until now. What is it, a question about Hunter?" I ask not hiding my irritation. 

"Um... yeah. Is he seeing anyone?" She asks. 

"No." I say and hang up. 

Everyone in school knows that we are best friends but he's popular and everyone ignores me just like I like it, but this is annoying. 

(How the hell do they always get my number?!) 

I sigh and get up, heading downstairs for a drink. The front door opens and my dad walks in. 

"Hey, dad!" I hug him. 

"Hey beba, how was your day?" He kisses my head. 

"Good, I went to Hunter's for a bit." 

"Oh that's good, did his parents say anything?" He asks. 

I look at him confused again. "About what?" 

He smiles. "Nothing sweetheart, nothing. You heading to that party?" 

"Yea, I'm goanna get ready now." 

I get a drink and head upstairs. I look at my wardrobe. 

"Ok, I need something that says I want to get laid." 

I put on a fitted wrap-off-shoulder white crop top showing my cleavage, with a tight black skirt that starts at my waist and ends on my thighs and black gladiator ankle strap high heels. I put my hair in a slick high ponytail with nude color makeup and accessories.  

I put some of the perfume that Hunter gave me, he said that the ones I wore were too strong so he bought me one that was soft scented. You can barely smell it but I like it. 

I give myself a look in the mirror and decide that I'm ready. Now to wait for this slowpoke.  

"I really wish Trevor was going to this party. Maybe we could finish what we started at the lake." I say to myself daydreaming. 

After a few minutes, I hear my father calling me. I go downstairs and Hunter is waiting for me. 

"You actually got here in time." I say surprised. 

He smiles and then his eyes slide through my body looking me up and down. He sighs looking annoyed. 

My dad laughs at him. 

Dad never complains about what I wear because he knows Hunter always gives me a hard time with my clothing choices. 

I roll my eyes at him. I kiss my dad goodbye and we head out. 

"I received a call again from a girl from school asking about you." I say once we are driving. 

He laughs. "Who?" 

"Her name is Sarah and I think she has History with us. She asked me if you were seeing anyone." 

He laughs again.  

"Not funny, how do they always find out my phone number?" I ask annoyed. 

He shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, girls are crazy." 

(Yea, they are.)

Hunter gives me a side look and clears his throat. "So... who do you have your eyes set on tonight?" He asks. 

I shake my head. "No one in particular." 

He nods looking lost in his thoughts and we ride in silence to the party.
