“You are the reason he cheated on me”, she yelled and Kelly froze. She clenched her fist and heaved a low sigh.
“Think whatever you want” she muttered and walked away. Anna gazed at the back of Kelly, her heels clicking the ground. She watched as she got into a cab and it drove away.
Her lashes danced in sadness and regret. She shouldn't have said such words to her best friend, she gazed at the ground.
Her heart ached, the tightening of her chest and her hands holding the hem of her maxi dress.
“Why did he have to cheat?” she mumbled slowly and sucked in her bottom lip. She staggeringly stood up from the ground.
She had to head home. She needed to know why he cheated on her.
Her kitten heels staggeringly walked on the pavement, her heart spinning and the vivid scene of her husband and the slut flashed her mind every second.
She paused in her step, a droplet of her tears falling to the ground. She bent down and buried her head in her gown.
The sniffing of her cries was heard, she didn't want to stop, it all hurt, all the lies, everything he said to her were all hurt.
Tick tack tick tack!
Her phone rang and Anna paused on her cries. She stared at the caller and her eyes lit up.
Her husband was calling and was perhaps worried about her. Did he want to apologize? She thought inwardly, her teary eyes filled with brightness and hope.
She was about to pick up the call, but then she sighted a pair of black boots, and she paused. She trailed her gaze to his head.
He was dressed in a dreamchard brown coat, a bucket hat on, loose black trousers and black T-shirt, leather hand gloves on. He looked like a fancy butler.
“Sir, can I help you?” She asked and he smiled.
“Good evening Miss Anna”
***************
Nicholas gritted his teeth. He had called Anna for the fifth time, but she wasn't picking up.
His hand vibrated in anger, and he threw his phone angrily to the ground. The smashing sound of it was heard and he smiled.
He paced round the room back and forth, his steps uneasy, he was waiting for her.
He diverted his head to the square blue clock on the wall, his fingers on his chin as he fiercely gazed at the clock.
The thought of her f*****g another man as a payback roamed his mind. “Ah, hmm” he could hear her moaning sound in his head and he frowned.
He would kill her if she cheats on him. His thoughts faded on hearing the opening of the door, and he averted his gaze at her.
She was drenched in dirt, her eyes were swollen and reddish, the gown depraved and dirty.
Her soulless dark eyes trailed to him, and he smiled. She moved backwards, ready to run, but he was fast.
The door closed with a bang and Anna shivered in fright.
“Why did you come back home early?” he asked, and Anna stumbled on her words.
“Yo….you…you.” she was cut off by Nicholas. He didn't hesitate to take hold of her hair.
He tilted her hair backwards, and she hissed in pain, his eyes fixed on her.
“She was soft, I was enjoying my time, but you had to come home early, didn't you. "Do you know who she is, she is worth more than your life?” he ramped and shoved her to the ground.
Anna's back crashed into the walls, and she groaned in pain.
“But you cheated, why?” She asked, her tone laced with sadness and hurt.
Nicholas chuckled in mockery and his eyes dimmed, his gaze piercing into her, and he walked towards her.
“Sign it”
Anna's eyes drifted to the paper on the ground, she slowly reached out for it and her eyes dimmed in fear.
“What?” She muttered in shock and gazed at him, his eyes filled with joy and emotions unknown to her.
“Let's get a divorce” he said, and Anna gritted her teeth in anger. She glared at him and threw the papers to the ground.
“Kill me first if you want a divorce” she yelled, and Nicholas chuckled in anger. He paused on his smile, and it faded in seconds.
“I'm going to make your life a living hell if I have to”, he threatened, and Anna felt her spine shiver at his words, his piercing gaze filled on her, his eyes boring into her soul and she looked away.
“Have you forgotten everything?” she yelled and paused for her words.
“Although I was an orphan, I gave you everything, the money I saved, my love, my body, my heart. "You promised me a life of happiness and wonder, but what did I get in return, you bastard?” she yelled, her tone high-pitched and tears falling down her eyes.
She didn't realize when he even got closer to her,
Bam
He slammed his fist onto the wall and Anna froze. He gazed at her and his eyes full of mockery and malice.
“A pathetic orphan will always be a pathetic orphan. Did you even think a man like me would love you? You were so foolish and naive then, you could heed any words of anyone even bigger, if he told you he loved you… Nicholas paused and scoffed, he placed a strand of her hair behind her ear and laughed.
He slowly bent down to her ear level and whispered “You are worthless and undeserving of my love, I have found someone better” he whispered, and Anna shivered in pain.
His words crushed her world, she could feel the suffocating stiffness in her chest and she trembled lowly.
“I trusted you, you say…you said…sniff…how could you” she cried and Nicholas frowned. He stepped aside and placed the paper on the table.
“I will give you seconds to sign that paper, or I will make your life a living hell in this marriage until you do” he said and walked away, the door closed with a bam and Anna shivered at the sound.
Her eyes trailed to the door, her gaze blurry and she fluttered her lashes, tears wailing out at that second.
She slides to the ground, the wall behind her, the droplets of her tears falling to the ground.
Even in his words, she didn't want to leave him, she might look stupid, but she loved him so much.
She had suspected his infidelity but acted ignorant. He wouldn't stare at her anymore, complain about her cooking, told her she was lazy, even stopped having s*x with her.
Sniff sniff!
She buried her head in her thighs. For some reason she wanted to stay.
Maybe just maybe she could make him fall back in love with her again!
