The following week he took Reny with him while he looked at restaurants large and small. It hadn’t happened overnight, but when they found one they felt would meet their needs Ric’s mind swam with legal terms and small print on contracts he had to sign. Finally, with a check in hand and a firm handshake, he couldn’t wait to get started. For the next few days both Ric and Reny worked hard at getting the restaurant in shape. They thought they could do it themselves, and began by scrubbing, washing, and cleaning everything in sight until they realized they couldn’t bring it up to the standards the city required, so they brought in professionals to do it for them. Laborers of one kind or the other swamped the premises for days, first cleaning and then others putting up colorful decorations.
