When your team captain hits a major career milestone, the team leadership makes a really big deal about it. Tonight there’s a dinner party to honor Grant, who will play his one thousandth game tomorrow night to a sold-out arena. Thankfully, Harper agreed to be my date, so I’m not alone here like I normally am at team events. All the guys chipped in, and we bought Grant a surprise golfing trip to Scotland, our way of saying congrats and thanks for being a great captain.
