Epilogue Three months later   Jun has a new love of his life. In fact, she’s with him right this second, a few feet away from where I sit on our rock in the park behind our building. She has Jun pinned on his back in the grass, and is straddling his chest, covering his face with kisses. I laugh. There’s only one reason I don’t feel tormented with jealousy. Pi-chan, Jun’s new beloved, is a fluffy white mutt with four legs. The second she and Jun saw each other at the animal shelter, there was a love connection between them. And Jun is turning out to be a wonderful pet parent. He keeps Pi-chan clean and groomed and treated so she won’t get fleas.
