Seth comes to our room and I wrap my arms around his waist before he can say anything. I walk us to the big couch and sit cradling his head against me. We don’t say anything just sit like that. When he begins talking his voice is raspy “what he endured Addi….it’s a miracle he isn’t stark raving mad.”
“A mother’s love….remember you said your mom always said a special prayer for the men she loved?”
He lifts his head comprehending exactly where I’m going. “It wasn’t solely Dad and me she prayed for. Morgan was part of it. He could feel that warmth. He said there was always a fleeting touch that kept him tethered from the evil that was our uncle.”
