Her thoughts were written all over her face and it cut through me like a knife. She is scared of me and doesn’t trust me. I close my laptop and reach over to brush her hair back. Lying on my side I face her watching her sleep. “I love you angel” I whisper out like I do every night before I go to sleep.
Two hours later I wake to her crying in her sleep. “No please…don’t” she mumbles and then I see tears on her cheeks. Gathering her in my arms I call her name gently “Addi wake up. You’re dreaming.
