The Bad Boy's Crush

Six months earlier… "Truth, truth, truth!" Chloe stared at the circle of drunk teens chanting for her to make her choice and she wished she had not chosen to play the stupid game at all. But then again, it was not like she’d had a choice. With her only friends Ava and Natalie off with their guys and Jessica off to God knows where, it was either this or sitting by herself staring out at the lake thinking about how much her life sucked. Reminding herself that she was still terrible at meeting new people and making friends. That and having to fend off every creepy guy at this party. One would think a royal party would have less of those. She sighed and stared down at the bottle. The damn thing was still pointed at her and even though there was no trace of alcohol in her system, she was scared that she would say the wrong thing either way and give herself away. "Alright fine, what do you want to know?" She gave up and stared at Dean while everyone else in the circle cheered. Dean, the extremely shy boy from her high school who had apparently blossomed after a few cups of punch grinned at her. But before he asked his question, Cooper leaned towards him and whispered something. "Hey, that's cheating!" Chloe protested and glared at the insufferable human being who had decided to make her life a living hell. It had only been two days since they’d met and yet she felt like she’d had to endure the jerk her entire life. If Cooper wasn't her kingdom's prince's best friend and guest, she would have done a lot more than glare at him. But this was Thievania and being the royal guard's daughter, she knew better than to assault a royal guest. "N...No, it's not cheating." Dean protested, sounding even more drunk than Chloe thought. "Of course it is." Chloe hissed, scaring the boy. "It's just a game. It's not like you have secrets to hide." Cooper retorted, his brow curled and a mischievous grin dancing on his lips. "Just shut up!" Chloe glared at him, wishing she could really dismember him this time and suffer the consequences of her actions later. She didn't know why, but everything about him just rubbed her the wrong way. "So who is Miss Chloe Morgan?" Dean shot his question with a slur. "What?" Chloe was taken aback. That was not what she’d expected at all. She would answer any embarrassing question except that. "I mean, who hides behind the beautiful Chloe that has brightened my school days since first grade?" "Excuse me?" Chloe's eyes widened at Dean's confession while the boy only stared, embarassed. Besides him Cooper howled, making Chloe glare at him some more. "Way to go man!" Cooper bumped Dean on the side before turning to Chloe, a wide grin on his lips. "So...Miss Morgan, what are you hiding behind that sexy--" "Oh shut up! Or I swear you'll leave this place bleeding." Chloe hissed. She was not one to lose it like this, but damn Cooper for pushing all the right buttons. "Ooh, she's got a violent side too." Cooper teased and that got to her too. She knew he was only playing, but she couldn't seem to know how to keep from being affected by each and every one of his words. "I...I'm waiting C...Chloe." "I changed my mind. I choose a dare." She said all of a sudden. There was no way she was talking about herself. Not in front of everyone and most importantly not in front of Cooper. The less he knew about her the better. "Okay. I dare you to...to…" Dean fumbled a bit, unsure of what he wanted to say before his eyes landed on Cooper. "I dare you to k...kiss him." "What?! Why not you?" Chloe exclaimed without thinking. "Oh...I...I wouldn't." Dean blushed despite his drunken state. "Nope, I dare you to k...kiss him." The once shy boy pointed at Cooper making Chloe wish she could knock some sense into him. "So, what will it be, Miss Morgan?" Cooper smirked, not hiding how much he was enjoying this. "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" Everyone chanted, making Chloe realize that there was no way she would be allowed to change her mind again. Some even pushed for her to get up, leaving her with no other option. "Fine!" She grabbed a cup of whatever the next person to her was drinking and downed it, hoping the drink would numb her senses somehow. Her throat burned as the liquid made its way down, but she didn't care. She bet kissing Cooper would feel much worse. Getting up, she dusted herself before walking over to him. "How do you want to do this?" The jerk grinned when she came up to him, but she ignored him and the weird way standing so close to him felt. Saying nothing, she got on her tippy toes and placed a quick kiss on his cheek. "Is that all?" Someone complained right after. "What are you? A nun or something?" A boy she didn't know scoffed and Chloe glared at him too. "Come on Chloe, give us something, please!" "Yeah, come on Chloe, let's give them a show." Cooper wiggled his eyebrows at her before reaching for her hand. "What are you doing you stupid--" She was cut off mid sentence when Cooper suddenly pulled her to himself and kissed her full on the mouth without warning. And without warning, everything in her melted. Her stupid lips didn't even bother protesting at all. Moving in sync with Cooper's and she strangely wished the moment would not end. "Hell yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" Someone exclaimed and Chloe felt Cooper smile into the kiss, making her heart hammer in her chest. "Now that is how it gets done, my lady." Cooper smirked while holding her gaze. Up close his eyes were as beautiful stars and dangerously alluring. Piercing her to her core so easily and leaving her poor heart skipping beats terribly. "Don't fool yourself Chloe…" She blinked when her own mind did well to remind her of her reality and not to get ahead of herself. "Whatever." She pushed Cooper off and walked away, not bothering about the game anymore. "You are so stupid, Chloe." She kept mumbling to herself as she walked away.
