1997-99 (Mayday's official debut year): Underground to mainstream
After participating in the opening of the wild stage, the orchestra began to send the recorded demo tapes to major record companies, hoping to win the opportunity to produce the film. In June 1997, Li Zongsheng, the producer of Taiwan's Rolling Stone Records, contacted the leader Monster after listening to the audition tape "Zhi Ming and Chun Jiao". Two months later, Mayday signed a contract with Rolling Stone. In December of the same year, "Rolling Car" was included in the compilation of the underground band "Songs of the Country" released by Jiaotou Music. In 1998, he participated in the production of Taiwan gay music creation 2- "Embrace", which included Mayday's works "Embrace" and "Androgyny" ", "Understand", "Reveal", "The Look of Love", the lyrics of the album have been slightly modified from the existing album works. Most of the lyrics and music are performed by Mayday, and all the production and recording work are arranged. Guanyou (Liu Guanyou) formally joined Mayday in 1999. On July 7th of the same year, the first studio album "Mayday's First Creation Album" was officially released, which was released by Rolling Stone Records. The album received excellent reviews among music critics and general audiences, sold more than 300,000 copies, and was nominated for the Best Singing Group Award at the 11th Golden Melody Awards. The two songs "Zhiming and Chunjiao" and "Hug" quickly became popular among young listeners and became the annual champions of KTV on-demand charts. "Zhi Ming and Chun Jiao" was also one of the top ten singles of the year of the Chinese Musicians Exchange Association. Soon after the release of the first album, the orchestra held its first large-scale concert "The 168th Concert" at Taipei Stadium on August 28, 1999. It attracted many supporters and became a famous orchestra in Taiwan.
