"So what? My name isn't engraved in your butt or anything right?"
Saira didn't back down, even though the entire crowd surrounded her in peals of laughter.
"But my love will remain as it is, strong and bonded, no matter how much you end up teasing me for it!"
Her scream while crumpling those fists and holding her head down, again resonated squeals.
From afar, came a cry of mock.
"Offo! Fahim isn't up for your ugliness, girl..Just f*****g back off!"
Again more laughter.
And the scrawling away of Saira proved that, once again, the school's most attractive Fahim had let go of another 'pain in the ass', like how he termed them.
"Come on, let's go"
Harith and Jake, both his favorite buddies who stood to fight or die for him, dived into their pockets for a cigarette each to get the courage to face any losers and followed him.
They strode towards class, whispering softly about which class to bunk next.
"Like seriously, I can't stand Geo. Let's tell Mrs. Ancy, I had diarrhea", marked Jake, with smoke gushing out of his nose. Sneering, Hairth flicked his forehead and sniffed,
"You kidding or what?"
"Wait, why?"
"She's absent bruh! Her son's got cholera or something. Some second-level serious, cause she's one week-leave"
Fahim turned from the smoke and sighed,
"And how the f**k you know?"
"Yeah, I know right..", added Jake, looking around from the terrace to see if anybody were eavesdropping.
A smile crept into the latter.
"Don't tell me...", Fahim sneered, pushing his buddy by the chest. That ended up in a funny laugh.
"Well, Mrs. Ancy is kinda hot, by the way. And she often asked for some alone time....so.."
"..So did you guys..?", asked Jake with widened eyes, searching for his ringing phone.
"Shut up! We didn't even share a kiss...geez!', he said, taking another puff.
Fahim shook his head, in a sigh and continued staring at the complex of buildings engulfing them. The light blue sky swam above them, like a mermaid's home while every peak reached its height. Clouds had taken leave two days before itself, surprisingly just like how the weather forecast said. He never usually heard the news, but when one has a sister who reads it out loud, there isn't any choice, is there?
"Jake, who was it?", asked them two, after seeing the latter walk to them.
"Serena. She wants to know whether we were at the entrance"
"And why the f**k is that?"
Harith scoffed as if the latter two were messing with him.
But Fahim stressed,
"Need me to repeat the big question for ya?"
The former threw away his cigarette to the empty space of the terrace and brought his face to them.
"Guys, today is when the newbies walk in, duh!'
The three of them, stood frozen.
"Then why the heck we standing here? Let's ---"
But his two friends had already disappeared.
"..Gah! They always do this...", remarked Jake, running to the ladder.
"What's your name?"
Fahim stood, leaning his back against the wall of the corridor, that ran straight into the wide playground of their school. Mixed in colors and variety, the ground was always embraced in different age groups, beginning from young girls to the oldest of seniors.
"M-my name is Veronica-a-a"
"Mmm...", mumbled Harith who was now scanning her from head to toe.
"Know how to sing, lean girl?", asked Jake, keeping his hoarse onset puberty voice pressured.
"No-o-"
"Then dance for us"
"Oh no! I don't-t know both-h"
"Then the f**k do you know?... Sheesh, get out of our face!"
The two boys had a giggle about it when the long-haired brown tanned girl made her walk, depressed down the lane. However, finding Fahim quiet made them look.
"The heck you looking at bro?"
"Trouble"
Just as the word spilled from his lips, a duo's shadow obstructed the light. The two looked up, to envision a wonderful sight. One familiar not -so-appealing face and another gorgeous little figure. Blue tint eyes, thick plushy lips, a bit bushy nose, and long ears. Slim and cute face, embracing pink hair and the ironed uniform; one only the nerds often wore.
They were about to walk across the three when Fahim's longhand stood in their way. Jake and Harith bit their lower lips, still struck by the girl's beauty.
"Move!", warned the boy.
Fahim shook his head and moved his body in their way.
"Fahim, please..."
That wasn't what a boy would say to Fahim, because the punk of Medieval Lion's High School never took warning or threats from his world-class enemy. Especially not when there are hundreds watching them. And never when he does it for a newbie.
"I need to clarify, Fahim. My apologies but let her go...please..."
The begging brought forward no movement. Keeping his fingers in the pockets of his long striped jeans, he stared hard at the girl. She took a glance at him, and remained, unmoving.
"Fahim...you needed an apology, and here it is. I, Farhan of Medieval's Lion School officially apologize to you in the--"
"No need, Farhan"
The tiny voice erupted the sorry giving ceremony.
Fahim flinched.
"Don't do it.....Not because of me..."
Farhan's hands holding her shoulders, remained intact and caring, for a fact, which made Fahim more or less tempted to hear her out.
"Hey girl, you don't even the heck why he is saying sorry!"
"He doesn't have to...I will take it.."
The former raised his eyebrows.
"Take what?"
"The ragging....", her voice failed a bit, as she kept her head low and nerve-racked.
"Oho!"
Fahim laughed, after his exclamation. His body shook a bit in the laughter, and he waved his hair a bit.
"Your name, Mrs. Courageous?"
"Famisha.."
"Meet me at the canteen after two today. We have got things to talk ", he added.
Even though he had turned to walk away, he reminded himself that it was no 'heroic exit or entry'
So he swirled around, knowing a thousand eyes were upon him from all floors and blocks and chucked a coin at her face.
"That for your little friend here. He might say 'No' to meeting me...so buy him a burger or something so he wouldn't bawl about it"
Claps and whistles echoed from every nook and corner, while the three bullies walked away in the most stylish manner down the late, to the playground.
While an absolutely insulted Farhan along with his little friend stood still and sullen.
That little friend, being his very own cousin sister.
"Brother..."
Farhan tried to smile, while an absolutely depressed Famisha grazed at him.
"Noo....No! This happens all the time. Let's just forget this happened."
Saying so, he held her hand more tightly and made for the stairs.
