The Bride of the Zodiac King

Chapter Three

2010-New York City

We all have this one friend whom we cannot say no to and for Ella ,Helena was that friend. There she was standing outside the famous expensive french restaurant 'La Perle' wearing a sequin black bodycon dress and a pair of red heels, her long chocolate brown hair cascaded down her back and her face glowed in the night light.One could see that tonight she made an extra effort to look sexy, more like smoking hot.Why wouldn't she, it was her last night out in New York,  dinning with a blind date whom Helena said it was THE catch ,well even if he wasn't ,she was ready for a night of fun ,laughter  and entertainment. She walked up to the host who was dressed up in a black tuxedo and gave her name. The young man looked at his list and then looked up at her and smiled.

'Accordez-moi un instant s'il vous plait',he said in perfect french and then walked away.

Glad I  understood that even if my french isn't that perfect.Now why did he go inside? He was supposed to say follow me not wait for me ..and  now those people are staring. I hope I didn't come here to be embarrassed!, Ella said to herself as she glanced over her shoulder at  the other people waiting in the queue behind her.

The young man came back accompanied with an older man, Ella's eyes widened and her  heart skipped a beat as she wondered if that  man with silver hair  could be her blind date .She swore that if that was the case,she wasn't going to speak to Helena for a week! She couldn't say indefinitely, because her dear friend meant a lot to her ,but she surely had to  stop her friend's  little matchmaking business.   Yesterday morning it was a young man old enough to be her younger brother and now a man old enough to be her father or even grandfather ! Ella couldn't run away ,the old man was looking straight at her with a serious look on his face,she wondered if he was wondering about the same thing ,that she was young enough to be his granddaughter ,unless he was one of those older men who likes younger girls! She gulped at that thought as they approached her. Ella tried to force a smile ,but his expression didn't change.

'Miss Russels, may you please follow me', the old man said taking her by surprise.

She didn't move ,she stood there like a statue staring at him with half-open mouth. Ella wanted to say something but no words came out,it was as if she had run out of suitable words to say. The man spoke with such an audacity, as if she was obliged to do exactly what he asked of her ,but  she surely wasn't going to follow an arrogant man like that. The old man turned and looked at her ,his serious expression was slowly turning into an angry one and as if he could see that she wasn't impressed with his attitude ,he laughed softly and then looked at her with a smile.

'Miss Russels you surely cannot be thinking that I'm your date. I came here to cancel the reservation and to take you to him..I mean your date', the old man said in a calmer tone.

' Its OK ,I have my car .I can follow you', she said with a smile  , but she was already thinking about ditching that old man as soon as she will get behind the wheel of  her car.

'I'm sorry Miss.Russels, but the car is already here.We will drop you back here once your date is over ', the old man said as a black car stopped next to them and he opened the rear passenger door as he stared at her with a smile ,one which she could easily see he was forcing himself to keep on his lips.

There was something puzzling in that man's eyes, something she didn't like at all. He was looking at her,but the serious look in his eyes made it look  like  he was looking right through her ,into the most secret places of her soul.A tremor of  fear  crept over her and she had only one thing on her mind, get away from that stranger, but as if he could read her mind as soon as she took a step backwards he asked her to wait.

'There is no need to be afraid.I'm only the messenger.Your date is waiting for you and he will be extremely disappointed in me if I show up without you and I might even lose my job', he said the tone of his voice suddenly changed into a calmer one and she could even sense that he was afraid of that supposedly boss.

'I'm very  sorry Mr...', she said as she opened her purse to remove her car keys.

'Sorry what is your name?', she asked.

'Alfred Memphis at your service', he pleasantly said and Ella wondered why the sudden change in his attitude.

Now you want to be nice!....Ella said to herself as she softly smiled at him.

'Thank your boss for the invite', she politely said and she turned to walk towards her car as fast her legs could carry her .

Memphis shook his head, her presence close to him irritated him. He wondered how he could control himself. One look at her he knew and could sense which species she was from, there was doubt that it was indeed her .Finally he was able to come  face to face with one of them from that bloodline.He surely wasn't looking at her in her human form, one could clearly see that she was a child of Venus.Naturally gifted with  beauty, no wonder his old king died with a broken  heart. He was completely  seduced by a Taurean woman's beauty ,which did not only steal his heart.. but also caused his death. There is nothing worse for a Leo than loss, especially if it is someone who is really special to them.The old King went cold ,no one could warm him up after the love of his life fled the kingdom and moved to planet Earth. Even if his brother Helios tried to warm him up,but even the King of the Sun could not calm his brother's cold self centered attitude.That was what started the war in the Zodiac Kingdom, a broken-heart ,no one could put up with King Leander's  leadership. The division started , the Solas  and Lunas became enemies and the ones who paid the most with King Leander's anger were the Taureans. Their woman and children suffered the most and in the end good friends became enemies. One thing for sure ,King Leander never stopped loving Daisy TwilightMoon the grand daughter of Queen Venus.

But Memphis did not think that the new King is as crazy about love as his  great grand father was. He was young and  had his own way of ruling the Sun Kingdom, which was  the highest kingdom in the Zodiac World. He had a tough character and vowed to one day have a child of Venus as his bride and would make her suffer the same fate as her ancestor. They had searched stars and moons for her and now there she was walking away from him. He would never allow her to escape , her fate would start tonight. If she did not want to come with him voluntarily , then he had no choice but to do as the King ordered, to kidnap her. The Bride of the Zodiac King has to be in the Kingdom by tonight,ready for the wedding which would take place in two days. Memphis signaled to two other men who were standing closer to Ella's car and a simple hand gesture from Memphis they knew exactly what to do.

Upon reaching her car, Ella turned and looked towards were the old man was standing. She breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that he was no longer there, nor was the black car.After  she had unlocked her car,she turned and took one final look at the restaurant  , then at the couples walking by hand in hand  and she smiled. As she turned to get in her car, she noticed as a   man who was walking in her direction  suddenly put a hand to his chest ,he kept  pressing his hand to his chest and  he looked like he was  in a lot of  pain. Ella could see the first signs of a heart attack and  her nursing instincts kicked in ,she hurried towards him.

'Get in my car ..there is a hospital not far from here.. ,hold on Sir..', she said as she hurried to put the man in the back passenger seat ,there was no time to call for an ambulance since they might take longer to arrive ,she could not take that risk, she got in still talking to that man to keep him conscious and quickly drove away.

Memphis smiled ,

' I should have done this in the first place instead of being polite to that woman! hmm human.. no the nurse  and her  duty to assist others in need. Could actually cost her , her freedom!' , he said with a laugh as the black car slowly vanished into the darkness.
