Avery POV April 21 Standing in the middle of my closet, I scanned my wardrobe. Spring evenings in California tended to be cool. I needed to dress accordingly, so I chose a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket, to ward off the chill, then went out into the bedroom. Our local spring festival was well underway, and I was really looking forward to it. I loved festivals. The party atmosphere, the smells, the sounds, the food. There was no better way to spend an evening with friends and I was determined to enjoy every minute. And now that Jonah and I had managed to get past whatever was between us and resume our normal camaraderie, I knew I could enjoy it. My phone’s text alert went off as I was pulling on my jeans, making me hop over to the dresser to pull up the message from Jonah. F
