Chapter 23
Aurelia's POV
After Gabriel left, I got up and dragged my feet to the bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth and took a shower. As I stood under the warm water, I decided to let go of what had happened and just move on. And get used to my new life. I dried off, dressed quickly, and headed to the dining hall for breakfast.
As I descended the stairs, I could hear Gabriel and Rocco talking in hushed tones, but they went silent as soon as they saw me. Dante quickly got up and pulled out a chair for me.
“Thank you,” I said, trying to smile as I sat down. Everyone at the table looked at me, surprised by my demeanor. It was obvious they were expecting me to still be upset about the incident, but I had decided to move on.
