Chapter 13 Aurelia's POV After Gabriel left the room, I felt a sense of sadness. I could see how hurt he was at my mention of his mother. Dante came in soon after, looking exhausted and sad as well. "You're lucky you're still alive," he said. "My father doesn't spare anyone who speaks ill of his mother." I was curious. "Do you know anything about his mother? What happened to her?" I asked. "No," he replied, shaking his head. "He never told us anything. He doesn't like to talk about it.” Whatever it was, it must have been serious, I thought to myself. "Excuse me," I said to Dante, and I left to find Gabriel. I wanted to apologize for my insensitive words. I knocked softly on his door. "Come in," I heard his deep voice call out. I entered the room, my heart pounding in my chest.
