Three: Surprise Guest

Surprise Guest Three: Reese Jamal comes running at me. He tries to wrap his arms around my waist to body slam me to the ground. I’m too fast for him though. I spin it around kicking him in his back making him eat mat. I laugh as he gets up face as red as a tomato. He tries again and again I dodge his attack. The whole class is laughing at his antics now. I wrestle him to the ground. He finally gives up and taps out. I get up and give him a hand up. “Okay, now who can tell me what Jamal did wrong?” I ask my class of teenagers from 15 to 20 years of age. One girl pipe’s up. “Acting like a male.” She says laughing. I nod my head. “He didn’t plan out his attack.” I nod my head. Then a boy that just started this class says. “He didn’t watch your body language to understand where you were going to move to.” I stop. “Your very observant. You just started right? Who are your parents?” He steps forward. “Yes, I just started. My name is Chase. My parents are Terry and Tess, head warriors of our pack.” I smile. “Well now I understand. You can step back now.” He nods his head at me. “Chase is right on with his answer but there is something that even he is forgetting. You have to stay calm and collected during any fight whether it be physical or mental.” The whole class gets quiet. Chase calls out. “What do you mean by that Coach?” I stop and look at everyone. “What happens when you get angry? All you think about is beating up that person or hitting something. Your ability to process decisions is null and void. You cannot think beyond being mad which takes away proper problem-solving skills.” I look around making sure everyone is paying attention. All of the class is staring at me with looks of deep thoughts on their faces. “When you stay calm and not let your anger take over you can think of what to do next and take calculated steps to ensure your survival.” “Reese, Reese” I see my best friend come up to me. “Your father wishes to see you in his office.” I nod my head looking back at my class. “Okay, guys. Class dismissed. See you tomorrow same place same time.” All of them cheer and wonder off. I look over and Mel. “What’s the old man want now?” He looks at me. “I have no clue, but your mom is in there with him.” I sigh this can’t be good. “Come on, I’ll walk with you.” We start heading towards my dad’s office in the packhouse. I really didn’t want to leave the sunlight. I love being outside with the sun shining. It keeps me warm. Anytime I’m indoors I feel cold. I’ve been cold for the last thirteen years now. We get to my dad’s office door, and I feel a shiver run through my body. I try not to talk to my parents since they pushed their beliefs on me. I have not had anything to say to them. Mel looks at me. “This is where I leave you. Good luck my friend.” He says as he claps my on my back. I nod my head at him as I rap my knuckles on the door. “Come in.” I hear my father call out as I open the door. I see my mother sitting in one of the two chairs in front of his desk as my father sits at his desk shuffling through paperwork. He looks up at me. “Come and sit-down Reese. We have much to go over.” All I can think as I walk towards my mother to sit beside her is this is so not good. They never want to talk to me anymore. Now all of a sudden, we have a lot to go over. Not to mention my parents are in the same room which never happens. They despise each other. I take the seat next to my mother. “What is it that we have to talk about old man?” I feel the hard slap from my mother on my arm. “You may not like him, but you will show respect to him. He is your father and Alpha.” I glare at her than at him. “Why would I show respect to anyone who shows me none at all.” My father looks at me with anger written all over his face. “Enough both of you. We need to talk for once not bicker and fight.” I sigh at my father because I know he is right I nod my head and look at him. “Your right Alpha. What is it that is so important to disrupt my training class?” My father looks at me and states the last thing I thought I would ever hear again. “It’s time for you to take your rightful place as Alpha.” I look at him and start laughing so hard I double over. By the time I calm down both of my parents are looking at me like I grew another head. “I do not want the Alpha seat. Give it to Thorn.” My dad shakes his head no as my mother opens her mouth. “He doesn’t want it. He found his mate in another pack and she is the heir. So, he will be her Alpha to his own pack.” I look at my mother and see how upset she is. Thorn is her baby and favorite child. He was always stuck to her side being a momma’s boy. My dad looks at me. “That means as our only child left you have to take the position of Alpha.” I sigh trying to think of how I’m going to get out of this one. It was like a light bulb went off in my mind. “I’m sorry Alpha but I cannot. I do not have a mate to ascend to the Alpha position.” I smile thinking that I have him now. I will never have to take the position. My father smiles evilly at me. “You remember LeeAnn. Alpha Markus’s youngest daughter?” I look at my father trying to figure out where he is going with this. “Yes, why?” My father stands up walking to the cabinet to get himself a bourbon. I see my mother out of the corner of my eye starting to fidget. I know that I’m not going to like this answer. My father takes his time pouring his drink and walking back to his chair. Enjoying the uneasiness in the room that he is causing. He takes his seat and looks at me. Relaxing back in his chair taking a sip of his drink. He lowers his glass and kills all my hopes and dreams with one sentence. “It has been decided that she will be your, Luna.” I can only sit there as the picture of my mate enters my mind. The last time I seen her she was dirty and scared of me. She ran and I wasn’t allowed to chase after her because she is human. It’s against our laws for any of an Alpha line to dilute their bloodline by mating a human. I look at my father with horror on my face when I realize something. “Alpha, I cannot take her as my mate. She is only eighteen years old while I’m thirty-seven.” I cannot tell him that I cannot be Alpha because since I lost my mate my wolf has abandoned me. I’ve tried to talk to him over and over throughout the years with no response. I think he really left me. He looks at me. “It doesn’t matter. You will mate her and become Alpha of this pack. She will be here with Alpha Markus tomorrow. You better make a good impression. Dismissed.” I try one more time to get out of this mess. “You cannot make me mate with her or become Alpha!” He looks at me with so much anger. “Is this still about that human from years ago? Get over it and act like a damn Alpha wolf. You will do what I say, or you will face being kicked out of our pack and you know what happens to wolves of Alpha bloodlines.” He says cruelly to me. Well, there went my chance to get out of this shitty set up. I stand up from my seat and bow my head. “Yes, Alpha.” I turn to make my way to the door when my cell rings. I take it out of my pocket and answer the phone at the same time the phone on my father’s desk phone rings. “Yes.” I hear a person out of breath on the other line. “Mel is that you? What’s wrong?” I hear him gulp a breath. “Reese you need to get to the gate quick. You won’t believe who is here.” I hear him stumbling on the other end of the phone. “You need to get here before they kill her. I don’t even know how she found us.” I’m starting to get nervous. I have never heard Mel talk like this. “What are you talking about? Who’s at the gate?” It gets really quiet. Then it’s like lightning went through me bringing my body back to life. “Teagan” ….
