Our First Kiss

“What?” Kai blurted out in shock. Could he have heard that correctly? How could she agree to this? Didn’t she love Adam? He was baffled, struggling to grasp the reality of the situation. It felt like a dream, and though he wanted to be sure, his body’s reactions were undeniable. The heat rising within him, coupled with the realization that Eva was willing to be close to him, stirred something deep inside. Was it her eagerness to save him or something more? At that moment, he didn't care—he just needed to be close to her. “Kai,” I said softly, my gaze fixed on his face. In the dim light, he appeared almost otherworldly. My desire now extended beyond treating his hypothermia and injuries; I wanted to heal his spirit as well. The old scar that marred his otherwise beautiful face was a reminder of the pain he’d endured. Despite its presence, I could still see the emotions he was trying to hide. His surprise at my willingness mirrored my own astonishment. I had never taken such a step for a patient before. Why was he different? I pushed the thought away, focusing instead on the task at hand. If I overthought this, I might become too entangled in this world’s complexities. “Do you want me to take the lead?” I asked, my cheeks warming with a blush. Kai was mesmerized, his eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made me feel vulnerable yet excited. “Of course not,” he said, his voice raspy and strained. I could sense the mix of nervousness and excitement in his tone, which only heightened the fluttering sensation within me. I waited, anticipation building as a fire ignited in my chest, spreading down to my stomach and between my legs, making me feel increasingly aroused. “Eva, you seem different,” Kai murmured, his hands moving to undo the strings of my clothing. Lost in the depths of his dark eyes, I didn’t notice how close he had come until his hands gently cupped my face. The warmth of his touch made my cheeks flush deeper, and I could feel a surge of heat inside me. It wasn’t just his temperature that had risen; his breath, now close and warm, fanned across my face. The intensity of the moment made it clear that we were both enveloped in a heat that was more than just physical—it was a shared, burning desire. We were dangerously close, teetering on the edge of something profound. “You’ve gotten better,” I said, my voice faint and tinged with sadness. I couldn’t quite understand why I felt so disheartened, as if the gravity had been pulled from my core. I didn't want this to end. Now that his breathing had steadied, he wouldn’t be as cold anymore. Would he stop? Guilt gnawed at me for wanting more, for feeling this intense, unfamiliar heat coursing through my body. My desire was almost overwhelming, a raw and primal urge that I struggled to control. I couldn’t understand how I could feel such a powerful attraction for a man I had only recently met, despite the fact that he was now my husband. Kai noticed the change in Eva, sensing her hesitation. Was she reluctant because he seemed to be recovering? He was no longer cold, but the tension between them was palpable. He struggled to breathe, caught between his long-held restraint and the intense desire he felt now. As an alpha wolf, he had spent years controlling his impulses, but resisting this moment was nearly impossible. The thought that she might regret this in the morning, that her actions were only a response to his illness rather than genuine affection, plagued him. Yet, the Eva before him was different, irresistibly tempting. She was driving him wild, and he found himself falling even harder for her, captivated by this new, alluring side of her. “Eva,” his voice was soft and tender, almost too gentle. I feared he might hesitate, so I took the initiative before he could say anything more. Driven by my own needs, I closed the distance between us and pressed my lips against his. His lips were dry and rough, likely due to his illness, and I felt an urgent need to soften them with mine. As I kissed him, I could sense all his restraint crumbling away. He pulled me closer, his hands moving to remove my outer layer of clothing with a sense of urgency. The process seemed clumsy yet determined, reflective of the ancient world’s many layers of clothing. It wasn't long before I found myself in the midst of undressing him, my fingers exploring his bare torso. In the dim light, I could see his vulnerability, and I realized this was our first kiss. The gentleness of his approach revealed his nervousness and inner conflict. Despite his clear desire, he remained cautious, which puzzled me. Did he sense something different about me? The thought that he might realize I was not the real Eva crossed my mind, but I dismissed it. He was still here with me, struggling with his emotions. “Do you not want me?” I asked, pressing myself against him, my body acting on its own. “What? Why would you think that?” he replied, his voice filled with confusion. “You have no idea what I want to do with you,” he said, looking away, his hesitation evident. “Then show me,” I whispered, entwining my fingers with his. As soon as our hands connected, he grasped mine tightly, a reassuring grip that made me feel safe. Kai shook off his doubts and leaned in closer, his gaze full of affection. But then, I saw his eyes darken with desire as they drifted down to my lips. I could feel the intensity of his longing, his Adam’s apple moving seductively as he swallowed. The heat between us was palpable, making me feel cherished and desired I felt a sudden, intense heat between my legs, making me blush furiously. I hadn't realized just how close he had come. My focus had been entirely on his dark, expressive eyes, which seemed to reveal his very soul. It wasn’t until his lips covered mine and his tongue pushed into my mouth that I fully grasped how near he was. Each twist of his tongue set my entire body ablaze. His kiss was a mix of gentle intensity, softness and assertiveness, blending love with lust in a way that left me craving more. My body responded with an eagerness I hadn't thought possible. This was my first kiss, a stark contrast to my otherwise reserved life and Eva’s own efforts to preserve her chastity. I thought of Adam, feeling a pang of guilt but also a rush of exhilaration. I pulled my hands away from his, feeling his frustration. Yet, when I wrapped my arms around his neck and ran my fingers through his hair, he let out a soft moan of pleasure. Our kiss grew more fervent, our tongues dancing together in perfect harmony. “Mate,” he murmured, or something like that. The word struck me with a mix of joy and confusion, but it also filled me with a sense of exhilaration. The masculine scent of musk and citrus enveloped me, intensifying my arousal. At that moment, nothing else mattered but our connection. It felt as if we were no longer two separate beings but one entity, united in our kiss. It was a moment of perfect harmony, a kiss I knew I would cherish forever—a soothing and addictive experience, like the gentle flutter of butterfly wings in a meadow. Kai pulled me closer, his hands lacing with mine as he shifted to lie on top of me. Despite the difference in our sizes, I felt completely at ease and perfectly aligned with him. He deepened the kiss, his hands guiding mine above my head. I felt myself falling deeply for him, enveloped in his scent and warmth. Suddenly, the door burst open, and a tall figure stood in the doorway—Ron, looking frantic. Had the world just turned upside down? I thought with a sense of dread.
