Author's POV
Mili smiled and moved a bit. As the door of the elevator stopped, the chairman, king Suryaraj Rathore was standing in front of her.
She hurriedly turned her back not to show her face. She moved ahead rapidly and crossed her path. Pranav couldn't understand what was happening? He sighed and shook his head with frustration.
"So, you are here to welcome us," The king chuckled and patted his back. Pranav has to agree with him, he has not any other option. He led them toward the office.
"Call her, I want to meet her," The king said orderly. Prithvi sighed and glanced at Pranav. As Pranav shook his head negatively in reply, that creates a problem for Prithvi.
"Dad, I told you to take a rest at home," Prithvi was looking for an answer. That's why he was changing the topic.
"I said to call her," The king stubbornly demanded.
"Pranav, call her," Prithvi sighed and pressed his head.
Pranav came out of the chamber. He thought deeply and called Malvika. He has contact details in the office file.
After two rings, she picked up the call, "Hello."
"Kunvar Rani sa, I'm Pranav, please come to the office," he said. Pranav's tone was calm and sweet. She couldn't deny his request.
Though she retorted, "I cannot go in this dress."
"There is nothing wrong, please come. If you won't come, the boss will chew me like chewing gum." Pranav begged from her.
"But what will I say to him, if he asks something?" Mili bites her nail in anxiety.
"He will not ask any stupid question. As much as I know about him, he will only ask about your happiness and what you like and dislike. That's it," Pranav explained to her.
Mili declined, "No, I can't go like this because I carry on the title - Kunvar Rani Sa..."
"Kunvar Rani Sa Ji, please save both of us, me and your poor husband. If you won't come to meet him, he will not spare us," Pranav tried to convince her dramatically. But before he could convince her.
"And what if the king announced me as the bride of his stupid son? Where the hell was my brain when I got this posting?" She muttered angrily and hung up the call.
Pranav sighed and started looking for her. Where Mili was standing, Shiv came and pulled her with him.
"Wait, where to?" Mili asked.
"I have something to show you, please come with me," Shivay led her to his chamber. Before they got in, Pranav came there.
"Madam, the chairman is calling for you," Pranav almost shouted informing her. Mili and Shivay halted and glanced at Pranav.
"Wow! Chairman Mr. Rathore is here, it's a pleasant surprise," Shiv chuckled broadly and led Mili towards the chairman's chamber.
"Prince Shivay, sir is in President's cabin," Pranav acknowledged them.
"Ohk," Shivay retorted and led the way towards the President's office.
"Shivay, please leave my hand," Mili requested.
"But the chairman wants to see you, let's go together. I will also meet him after so many months," Shivay said and they are almost at the entrance of the President's chamber. Pranav hurriedly opened the door for them.
The door clicked open. The lowest voice of opening the door caught Prithvi's attention. He lifted his gaze and his first gaze landed on Malvika. Then within a second, his eyes burned with anger when he saw her hand is in Shiv's hand. He was so happy but Malvika was scared. She was not ready to meet the king.
"Hukum sa, how are you?" Shivay dragged Mili with her and came close to the king.
He left her hand and touched King's feet. The king laughed and placed his hand on his head, "Stay blessed my son."
"I'm all fine, but how are you doing your work here?" The king asked. The king and Shivay's father are close friends. That's why his father sent him here to learn the business.
"All good and about my work, you can ask your son," Shivay chuckled.
Meanwhile, Mili was silently standing there. She glanced at the Prince and their gazes met. She only found anger in his eyes. Both of them averted their gazes rapidly.
Shivay stood straight and was going to introduce Mili, "By the way, meet her..."
"I know her, she is the daughter of the king Dheersingh, the princess of Raipur," The king smiled at Malvika.
Malvika lifted her gaze and smiled at the king. Both exchanged a glorious smile. A little bit Mili was feeling secure because he didn't tell him that she is prince Prithvi's wife.
Her legs automatically moved and she touched King's feet for blessing. He blessed her and wished her, "I'm proud of you that you have started working here. I honor your decision of making your career on your own."
"Thank you," Mili's eyes filled with happy tears. She had never heard any praising words from her father. He is feeling fatherly love from her father-in-law.
The king talked to Shivay for a while and said, "You may do your work. I need to talk to the princess about her father. After all, she is also my friend's daughter."
"Sure," Shivay bowed and left the chamber.
Mili came into this chamber for the first time. This is a giant-sized and luxurious chamber. Everything is decorated in white and shiny black color. Furniture is also made with white and black material.
"Sit here," The king gestured to her to sit on the sofa placed next to him. She gulped heavily and sat with fear.
"Did my son misbehave with you?" The king asked looking at both of them, turn by turn. Hearing him, Prithvi's ears rose up with a frown on his face. She can also see his expression.
She nodded in No.
"Then why are you so scared? Be calm and happy." He paused.
"I'm a king, but before that, I'm a father," He smiled painfully and said, "If Prithvi's mother would be alive, she is gonna scold hum too much for treating you so badly."
That makes her smile. She smiled thinning her lips.
"By the way, he is stupid but he is my son and your husband. let's have a deal," The king gave a proposal. Like he is talking about a business deal.
"Deal?" She asked.
"We should teach him some lesson and we should make him realize that there is a beautiful life apart from his business and work," The king said in a low tone. Then, both of them chuckled.
Mili has met so many kings before. She had never met this kind of person. He is the powerful king, the king of Rajasthan, who rules over the small and big 27 territories. But there is a soft heart and lovely father inside him.
"Are you really the king ?" Mili asked making him laugh. He laughed loudly and patted her back.
"If you have a doubt, then let's make him the king. I don't have trust in him but I trust you. When he will be the king, you will be the queen. And I have more trust in you than him," The king laughed. Mili also laughed but her laughter stopped when she glanced at Prithvi.
Prithvi got up from his chair and headed toward them. She gulped in fear.
"Dad, if you have done, you may go home and take a rest," Prithvi said in a frustrated tone.
"Who told you that I'm done," He glanced at him.
"Dad, I think it's enough for today," Prithvi sighed.
"And you, take this, study well and I will call you later," Prithvi handed her a file. She got up hurriedly and touched the king's feet again.
"See you in the evening," The king said and She nodded with a thin smile.
As she left, Prithvi sat on the sofa, "Dad, what was that?"
"Didn't you see how much frightened she was?" The king sighed and added, "I just tried to cheer up her.
"Dad..."
"Listen to me," The king yelled at him.
"After seeing her face, both of us have inquired about her. There is no connection between her and Malini. Malini was your past and she is your present and future. Accept her and try to make her happy. She has struggled a lot in her life, though she is the princess. Dheersingh never treated her well or raised her as a princess. She is really a hardworking girl and I have a full history of her," The king said in one go.
"She has all the qualities to become the queen. Just give her a chance, don't avoid her or push yourself far from her," The king said.
"Arranged Marriages still exist in this world, where bride and groom don't know each other but still they live their life together. This is for you, just try to step into the world of love," The king sighed and got up.
"See you in the evening," The king said and got up to leave.
Without looking at the Prince, he left and Bhairav followed him. As they disappeared, he shouted, "Call her to come to my office."
As she came in and he was standing at the window looking outside at the sky. Then he asked Pranav, "What is my schedule today?"
"At 11 am, you have a meeting with Mr. Poddar and also had lunch with Mr. Malhotra for business purposes. After that you have a meeting for the development of a new project with investors," Pranav answered him as per his schedule. It is his part of duty. Pranav and Mili exchanged their gazes with confusion.
"And you... Tomorrow morning, we will have a meeting for the presentation of a new development project. You'll be there presenting to our shareholders the positive and negative aspects of the project.
"What?" Mili was mortified with shock. It's nothing like that she can't do it but it's not her position in this company to present these details.
"What?" He shrugged off.
"I mean that it is not my duty," She shrugged off.
"Your duty is to obey my words and I'm your boss here. I want you to represent this and that's what you have to do," He tossed the pen and smirked.
She couldn't hide her frustrated face. She is angry. It is her second day in the company. Pranav and Mili understood that he is doing this intentionally.
Mili grabbed the file confidently and groaned, "Fine, I will do it."
"It's a 25 million dollar project," He acknowledged her with a smirk on his face.
"What if I will make a loss, my husband will pay you," Mili chuckled and stormed out of the chamber.
Hearing her comment, Pranav couldn't stop his laugh. Prithvi was irritated and threw the file on his desk harshly.
Mili is quite confident about her work. She opened the file and started studying it. She made so many changes to the data. There were a few mistakes too, she corrected them in a few minutes.
"Shiv," She called h directly.
"Who prepared this file?" Mili asked him. Shiv doesn't know what she is talking about, so he stopped and took the file from her hands.
"It must be done by Mr. Mathur," Shiv said and asked her, "But now it is with you? How?"
"Boss wants me to give a presentation tomorrow," Mili shrugged off as it's ok and she doesn't have any problem with it.
"But it is Mr. Mathur's duty to present this project to our investors, it's not yours?" Shiv was tensed.
"If you will not convince them of this project, the boss will chew you alive. Do you even know how is our boss?"
"Have you ever seen my presentation? It's not an easy task," Shiv was seriously tensed about Mili.
"Well, I haven't seen any, and I didn't give any presentation in my life, but I'm willing to do," Mili smiled at him.
"But..."
With a deep sigh, Mili smiled, "There is always a first time to everything. Try once, tomorrow will be yours."
