Author's POV
Dheersingh reached his palace late at night. His kingdom was far away from Jaisalmer. There was no one to welcome him except his wife.
She smiled and welcomed him jovially. She was expecting a return victorious smile from her husband but it was not that one.
He inserted his hand in the pocket of his suit and pulled out a horoscope. He narrowed his eyes before growling at her, "Did you change it?"
She smirked only in reply. It was sure that she knows why he is so angry.
He threw it at her and she grabbed it rapidly. As she glanced at the front of the horoscope, she smirked, Hmmm..."
"Why?" He shouted at his wife.
"Well, I don't want my daughter would get marry that prince," She shouted back at him.
"But why? We will get power and our daughter will be the queen of the entire territory," He angrily growled at his wife.
"Because, I don't want to marry prince Prithvi," A beautiful princess stepped down the stairs and came towards them. Her face was beautiful but her smirk was evil. There was heinousness in her green eyes.
"Avantika..." He shouted at his elder daughter.
"Dad, how could you send your daughter to the ocean of death?" The princess growled back. She raised her voice further, "Don't you know, or maybe you forget that three princesses were brutally killed, who was going to marry the prince?"
"Whatever is there, I don't care... I love Ranvijay, the prince of Jaipur. I'm going to marry him," Avantika announced.
"Ava..."
"Dad, you should ask Malvika to marry the prince and fulfill your dream. And what she had given us in return? We have right on her, you should call her and bring her home," Avantika cut him off and scoffed at his father arrogantly.
Dheersingh was irritated, her family has changed the game, he had planned. But still, the game is in his hand. His eyes sparked with a victorious smile.
"Malvika marries or Avantika, who cares, I will get what I want," He thought and pulled out his phone and left a text message to his adopted daughter Malvika.
Horoscopes were altered, now he can not arrange Avantika. King Suryaraj wants that Princess Malvika, whose 32 points are matching will be the best bride for the Prince. The name of Malvika was announced, he can not alter it now.
But only Dheersingh and his family know that the bride is replaced. But he is getting what he wants. Only he and his family know that Malvika is their adopted daughter. Not even, Malvika knows this fact. He never thought that he will use Malvika this way. He smirked evilly.
He deeply knows that the prince doesn't like the arrangement, so there are so many chances that he will not treat his wife better. So he is thankful too that his own daughter is not gonna suffer. The replacement is worrying about the happiness of his own daughter.
Next day...
Early in the morning, the sun rose, the car stopped in front of the main entrance of the palace, and a beautiful girl came out of it and rushed inside the palace.
"You have called me urgently," She started while bowing down her head in front of her parents, after all, they are the king and the queen.
"Yeah, you are getting married, Malvika..." The queen smirked wickedly.
What do you mean by I'm getting married ?" Malvika asked the queen in utter anguish.
Rapidly, she bowed her head which was risen for a while. The queen Gita stared at her nails under the lights, acting the least bit interested in what Malvika had to say.
"Did you think about us, sweetie?" she asked Malvika and thought, "You have always been a business investment. This was not the plan but it's time to get what has invested in yourself."
"of course, Mom..." The princess was shocked.
"Then, you have to marry Prince Prithvi, it is your father's promise and you have to keep his promise to the king of Jaisalmer," The queen said in a single breath.
Malvika gasped at her words. She always knows that almost everyone in the royal family disliked her but she had never thought that they would force her to marry someone this way.
"What are you saying?" The princess gasped as stepped back. She hopefully glanced at her father.
"Well, princess, we need financial support to raise our companies and they will get the support to get the throne of the entire territory," Her father shrugged off casually while enjoying his morning tea.
"Is this a marriage or a business deal?" The princess couldn't stop herself from asking and fresh tears built in her eyes.
"And there is nothing wrong, you will be the queen my princess, " Her father. Said happily and the queen added, "I'm saying that tomorrow morning, you will be the bride of the prince Prithviraj."
The queen headed to Malvika and came closed to her, "Well, what will happen to you before or after marriage, it's none of our business."
Malvika fought hard at the tears, she felt threatened to fall. But she takes care of herself, her mother and her elder sister only mistreated her, but her father neither loved nor mistreated her. She tried to hide the pain from them, as much as she could. Her father sent her far from home, she thought it was an opportunity to escape from this painful life, but now, she felt like maybe, this will open a new way for her.
Suddenly, the guard announced that the princess of Jaisalmer, Abha is coming. Hearing this, Dheersingh ordered Malvika, "Go to your room and get ready for today's wedding rituals. You are going to marry tomorrow."
Silently, Princess Malvika moved to her room. This was not expected of her. She was not getting any idea what to do now.
Princess Abha came and handed gifts and clothes for the bride to the queen Gita. As she appeared, her face was not so happy. There were mischievous feelings dripping from her eyes. The queen gets a hint that maybe, the princess doesn't like this arrangement for her brother. The queen feels happy as she found that the princess doesn't like it, which means, Malvika will suffer in her groom's palace.
The queen tried to talk with the princess Abha but she didn't stop there for a minute. She serve to hand over the gifts and she announced arrogantly, "There will not be a grand wedding, so, don't call so many people. Do the arrangement, we will be here tomorrow afternoon."
"Sure, princess," Gita smiled broadly. But Abha did not wait to reply to her and exited the palace.
........... ........... ........... ........... ...........
"Prithvi, what have you thought?" Abha asked the prince.
"Nothing to think about," The prince replied arrogantly. He got up and made his way to exit but Abha stopped her by holding his hands.
"You can't ignore me," Abha said cupping his face. She added, "I know you are happy with this arrangement, then why didn't you deny it to Dad?"
she added further, " I think you should marry Princess Priyanka, she knows you and your past, you know her. This will be good for you, still, we have time."
"No, she is my friend, I can not destroy her life. She deserves happiness, and there was no place of happiness in my life for my bride," He retorted and stepped back. Usually, he never replies to anyone except his father and his elder sister.
It was already evening, He headed to the lake behind his palace. It was artificial, but there was peace. His shattered heart always felt relaxed here. He sat on the stairs and glanced at the white lotus blooms in the lake.
The laughing and giggling sound of a lady echoed in his eyes. He was hearing the conversation and he got up angrily from there. His face was sweating. He whirled back to move but he has to stop as a man was standing behind him.
"Sir, here are the documents, you have asked for, " Pranav, Prithvi's assistant said and handed him some papers.
"Hmm," He took them and led the way.
"Sir, why don't you move on? There is a new life waiting for you," Pranav hesitated but finally, he dared to suggest him.
"Sir, forget the past and move on, you deserved the happiness. Whatever happened in the past, there was not your fault. How long you will plead guilty for that and hurt yourself?" Pranav said further and there was a concern for the prince in his eyes.
The prince steers without looking back at him. He is going to marry that princess tomorrow. Neither he has seen her nor Known her. There was something vicious running in his brain. He wants the throne and that's why he is going to marry her nothing else.
