Chapter 10 - DawnThe sun was high when I awoke. Stretching, I yawned and realized I was in a strange place, not where I'd expected to be. It took about eight seconds to remember my terrible night and how I'd wound up in a small room in an old hotel somewhere in the suburbs. The walls were painted light gold and the ceiling white. The window, thankfully was covered with a shade. It was a clean room. Crisp, plain white sheets, the comforter warm, pale yellow with a delicate pattern of stems, flowers and leaves, and a crocheted throw over it as well. The small bed boasted a brass headboard and footings. Because I had nothing to wear to bed, I was nude, save my underwear and my gloves. The sheets somehow felt luxurious against my skin, and while it felt slightly naughty, it also felt freeing.
