Chapter 17 - GremlinsThe jaguar charged across the atrium, splashed into the small pool, and then out the other side. He stopped, looked up and made a snarling cat noise that competed with the loud alarm going off. The sound of the alarm hurt my ears. I held my hands over my ears. Not quite like a fire alarm, it was more of a ululating piercing sound that was hard for my werewolf's hearing to take. Micheal surged out of the elevator, moving with his gun held, ready to use it. “Can't someone turn that f*****g thing off?” Stefan shouted, hands over his ears as well. Micheal turned to a panel, threw it open and hit something. Silence. “Thank you,” Stefan said. “Don't step out,” Stefan warned too late. I'd already taken two steps out of the elevator.
