After Mike and Trace are gone, Adam sits on the battered sofa along one wall of the recording booth and fiddles with the tuning knobs on his guitar. He pretends he isn’t watching Paol, who’s back in the sound booth with Lewis. Adam isn’t sure what they’re talking about but every now and then Paol looks over at him, and once when he sees Adam looking back, he smiles. He has quite a disarming grin.
