CHAPTER SIX Kathy grabbed Stella’s hand. “Your fingers are icy,” she told her impatiently, as if pointing out a personal failing. She tapped the shoulder of a passing waiter. “Go to the second guest cabin.” As the waiter looked blankly at her, Kathy continued impatiently, “The one at the end of the upper-level corridor. Bring a warm coat for this guest. There are a few spares in the closet there.” The waiter nodded and hurried away. “Thank you,” Stella said, grateful to see Kathy’s kind side. Perhaps the earlier snide comment had just been her attempt at humor. “Come up to the outside deck. It’s where we have the seafood barbecue as it has the best view.
