As we drive back to the mansion, I feel exhaustion sweeping over me as I ride in the back of the car trying not to fall asleep. I anxiously fiddle with my phone, waiting for Madison to text like she usually does after one of our days together. But the screen still shows our conversation from hours ago. Thinking my life might've scared her from my life, I turn my attention elsewhere and stare out the window at the multi-colored sky. A pang of sadness begins to percolate inside of me.
