TRAVIS AMPHER
CHAPTER 1 TRAVIS AMPHER
Life as the second son of the famous Ampher couple who had displayed their love and affection everywhere they went, everyone hoped to ride their coattails and earn their favor so they could either get famous or have opportunities to meet the people amongst the upperclassmen.
Because of their family’s humbleness and modesty, people who have ulterior motives had been pretending to be a close friend to them, and as the second and middle child, he was subjected to everyone’s fake affection.
He yearned for genuine feelings and he could only feel those with his circle of friends, Leerion, Allana, Augustine, and the others, all from different status yet managed to bond and create a squad where you can be your most real version.
He had come from the 3 hours long meeting with some client who was proposing a new design for the mid-year party where they will need to present a new product to their people like how the tradition goes. Each year, Tryton Corporation had three new cars for its people and whoever won the mid-year party will have the grace to own the very first car made and presented that day.
Behind him are men ranging from the ’20s to ’30s, not one of them loses to the handsome list but there are always a few who stood at the very top amongst them and that is Leerion Taves, his most loyal Secretary, and best friend.
Leerion stood a couple of inches taller than him, if he was 6’4 tall, Leerion was 6’8 taller than him and everyone looked nothing like dwarves after him. The man had dark brown neatly combed hair. He had a clean well-maintained face, a french aristocrat’s high cheekbones, and a shamelessly sensual mouth that would bring shame to any woman out there. His eyes the same shade as his hair and with a sexy phoenix eye beneath his well-trimmed thick brows.
Leerion is an eye candy and if he was a woman, he would date him. Grinning at his thoughts, he glanced at the man who was standing beside him, looking aloof and cold. That is the only problem Travis thought of, no woman would be willing to date an ice block of a man who would either give perfunctory answers and unamused glares.
Days would come that Travis would beg the man to loosen up around him, but his uptight, clean freak and the strict front would never waver even when he called all kinds of women to flirt with him. All ended up running away with eyes full of tears.
He would lash out at the man and yet, Leerion’s unapologetic smile and sardonic look would always make him close his mouth in helplessness.
At times Travis would blame him for being so cold and unfeeling, he would warn him about growing old and dying all alone. But it was useless, Leerion would shrug his shoulders and scoff at him for being too dramatic before dumping piles of work on him since Travis was unoccupied to the point of meddling with his life.
Leerion noticed his curious glance at him and c****d his eyebrows before ignoring him once again.
The elevator door opened before them and they all alighted from the lift. They were surprised to see a crowd of people in the hall, however, they weren’t there for them, instead, they were watching a catfight.
Travis smiled in surprise after his eyes landed on one of the women fighting. It was one of their friends, Allana Delaney. In her arms is a young child ranging from 3-4 years old. She looked different with her wan look, but her elegance never left.
