The phrase, or rather the accusation, kept coming to my mind insistently.
They were Melany's words right after I separated from Anthony, after seeing out of the corner of my eye that she was watching us.
“You kissed your brother,” Melany repeated when I pushed her into the first empty classroom I found.
“I told you he’s not my brother,” I almost shouted. “This was all an accident. He and I were adopted by the Alpha couple, I told you this morning.”
“Yes, I remember, of course, how could I forget something like that, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s your adoptive brother. It’s not… it’s not right, no matter how you look at it.”
