“You what?" Sean repeated, shooting up on his couch. He tossed his book aside without marking his place. “I quit," Isaac repeated. “Journalists and paparazzi showed up, and I can't deal with them the way you can." Sean dragged a hand through his hair. His leg bounced with his nervous energy. “God, Isaac, I'm so sorry." He was saying that a lot anymore. How could Isaac possibly love him when he kept screwing everything up? “Once things settle down, I might be able to go back," Isaac said. He didn't sound hopeful about it. “But what will you do before then?" Sean asked. He'd seen Isaac's apartment; his boyfriend didn't exactly have spare cash lying around. “I don't know," Isaac said. “I'll be okay for a month, maybe two if I sell some of my stuff and ask Mom…" Sean drew a line there.
