ALISTAIR "It's going to be okay. Don't overthink. We all will help you but we can't force her, you know. I will say leave it up to fate," Jamzine spoke, somehow comforting. Cylon nodded his head. "It is really cold tonight. Why don't I go and give something to keep them warm throughout the night? And also I am curious to see Cylon's mate," Jazmine said, wiggling her eyebrows at him to which he shyly smiled. "You know you are making me jealous," I said, pouting my lips. Arthur rolled his eyes but Cylon and Jazmine understood my joke and laughed. Probably feeling bad for me now. "I have a feeling you will find your mate soon," She says, tapping her fingers against her chin. I hope so. I commented internally, hulping down my emotions as i passed her a smile. "Sure sure. Take someone with you to the cell," Arthur advised Jazmine, caressing her hand which he held. "Cylon where are those papers that you guys found in their car?" He asked as soon as Jazmine was out of the room. Cylon pulled out a bunch of papers from his behind. Laying them on the central table, we all came around to examine the papers. Grabbing the nearest paper, i smoothed the ends of the paper which had gone rough with the passage of time and lack of care. "These are some designs I can recognize. Like a room/ home layout," I spoke, rotating the paper in my hand. "Here! These are the ones we were talking about," Cylon exclaimed, waving a few papers which were darker in color than the rest, in the air. Arthur grabbed the papers and carefully spread them on the table after I removed the others- unnecessary ones. One of the papers had Werewolf written in the top left corner, with a cycle of the moon- from crescent-shaped to half-moon to full moon. Paw shapes and paw prints are drawn onto it along with its description. A few old writing was present that I couldn't comprehend what it was. Below it was a cycle of transformation- werewolf shifts into human and visa versa. A large wolf head was drawn where its skull was explained along with a human skull and its description. It clearly shows whoever had written this paper knew about our species well enough. Grabbing the other paper, I came across a large drawing in the center and ancient writing all around it. The drawing was a circle with a werewolf and human within one body drawn in its center. "This is sure suspicious," Arthur spoke lowly as he examined the papers. Cylon nodded his head making eye contact with me. I scratched my stubble as I processed the information. "Only with the drawing one could understand just enough. Though we are known to be mythical creatures to humans so they might have done some research on us, but I don't think I have ever seen such elucidation of werewolves before," I interjected, my forehead creased in confusion. "What if it is just a harmless drawing as you said we are known to be mythical creatures to them. So of course, some ancient people might have some link with our ancient wolves. We have human mated as well, so what if it was written by some human mated to a wolf in the old times?" Cylon rebutted, knocking his knuckle on the table. I hummed agreeing with his statement. "It might be a possibility. We should show these to Thavma and Pavlos, and question the girls about having these with them," Arthur spoke, rubbing his hands down his face. Thavma and Pavlos were our elderly couple in the pack and have been with us for a long time. They used to be a part of the court during old times when there were Kings. Now we only have a council that is like a court where the oldest wolves with higher knowledge are appointed. They make rules, regulations, and standards for a new generation to follow and to deal with conflicts among the packs. "Okay. Let's call it a night. Be here early in the morning," Arthur dismissed us and collected the papers he needed. Cylon and I left the room and I threw my arm to rest over Cylon's shoulders, making him hunch down in impact. "Where are you going?" I questioned, knowing very well where he would go. "As if you don't know," He chuckled, running a hand in his hair. Visit his mate. "Don't worry brother," I reassured him and patted his back once and let him go. Stuffing my hands in my pants pocket, I just stood outside the building looking into the stray night. Quite and Silent. Like my life. I chuckled at my thoughts. I need sleep that's all. So I dragged my feet towards my house to put an end to today's night. Kicking my shoes off as I stepped inside the house, pulled off my shirt, and threw on the recliner. I slumped down on the bed and dozed off. Removing the sheets from my face, I blinked against the dark room. Putting a hand over my mouth a yawn came to me. Slightly scratching my bare chest as I felt ich out of nowhere, I sat on the bed. That's how we struggle. Ich occurs suddenly anywhere on the body. After a shower and changing into my clothes, I walked down into the kitchen to cook something for myself before I headed down to the office. Sticking to a simple breakfast this morning which consisted of a few toasted French bread, jam, and coffee. Later, on my way towards the main building, I found Thavma and Pavlos heading inside. Getting inside, I found Arthur, Jazmine, and Cylon with the elderly couple. "Good morning Thavma and Pavlos. How have you been?" I asked, with a smile on my face. "We have been doing good son. You haven't visited me in a while. Is everything okay?" Thavmas questioned as I sat beside Arthur next to their sofa. "I am fine. Just busy with the pack stuff. Don't worry," I lightly patted her hand which she grabbed in hers. Thavma and my grandmother used to be good friends. After their death, she took care of me and cooked food for me often. She has no child and always used to treat her friend's child like her own. "That's good. How's your dad and mom. Are they back yet? " Pavlos asked, white hair suited him more than black. "Ah. No. Haven't heard from him in a while, but i think they will be back soon," I spoke with a smile. "Drop by today. I will make your favorite food," Thavma gave my hand a soft pat. I nodded my head in response. "Well, I asked you to come here because I want to show something to you. Please see and let me know if you can understand it or not," Arthur spoke politely, standing up to hand over the papers from yesterday to Thavma and Pavlos. "Hmm," Thavma hummed as she put on her glasses on the bridge of her nose. Wrinkles decorated her face as she turned to look at the paper. Pavlos with similar wrinkles across his face, white bushy eyebrows creased together as he examined the other paper he held close to his face. This somehow brought a smile to my face. "I do understand a little bit of what is written down here. It is about us- werewolves as you can identify from the drawings as well. It says something along the lines- on the full moon, the wolves celebrate their birth and pray to their moon goddess about whatever they wish. And something about a mate. That's all I can make out of this scribble," She said, looking at us through her glasses. Arthur and I exchanged looks. A human would never understand the language and the meaning behind it. Unless they have someone of old age as Thavma and her husband. "Well from this paper, I can't get anything. I don't understand a single word," Pavlos announced, tapping his finger on the paper he was holding in his other hand. "Let me have a look, honey," Thavma said, grabbing the paper from him. We all had our eyes set on her as we waited. "You are right. I can't understand this language," she commented and put them down on the table. "Where did you find them dear?" Thavma asked, looking up at Arthur. "Oh, Granny. We happened to come across a complicated situation yesterday. Well, two human girls have these papers with them," He spoke, scratching the back of his neck. "Where are they? Did you question them about this?" Pavlos interjected, "Well yes, we have them locked in here in the cell. While we are on the topic, it's better to call them now and ask them about this," Arthur spoke, standing up from the sofa. I nodded my head and glanced at Cylon who had gone tense at the mention of the human girls. "Tell Russell and Jose to bring them here," Arthur ordered Cylon and went back to sit on the sofa beside me. "Here are your coffees. And here's your favorite," Jazmine entered with a tray full of coffee cups and handed Thavma her favorite whipped cream coffee. We all took our own and drank it in silence. All of us were lost in our thoughts when we heard the front door opening. Blinking several times, I brought myself to reality and leaned back on the sofa. Two women came into view, one taller than the other one. At the sight of us, the short one inched behind the taller woman to which she didn't pay any attention. Maybe she was used to having her friend hiding behind her. I dragged my eyes to the taller woman, observing her. The blue jeans she wore were blotched with dirt and blood. The maroon shirt she wore was in the same condition, as if she felt my eyes on her, her long slender fingers gripped the end of her long sleeves and pulled them forward so that her hands were enclosed in them. I dragged my eyes up and met the most beautiful electric blue eyes I had ever seen in my life. My eyes widen in surprise and lips parted not believing what was happening to me was real. I felt rush of emotions hit me like a bulldozer that just ran over me leaving me gasping for air. My heart started beating wildly against my chest and a growl tried to escape my lips but I pursed my lips tightly to hold it in. I tightened my fist and everted my eyes. It can't be. I questioned my sanity and felt anger rising within me. I have been looking for her all around the packs and boom! Here she is. A human mate. Living in the human world that I had no idea of. My eyes automatically went to look at her, she was beautiful. Even her voice was enchanting to me annnd I was sure I was zoned out of what everything was going on around me. But I was helpless, I couldn't drag my eyes from her. My eyes roaming around her body and face. Fuck. Well, I am f****d. Pinching my palm to calm myself down and forced myself to focus on the conversation first. I took a glance at Cylon and blinked at his expression. No way. He had hearts shooting out of his eyes, not even blinking once as he looked at the shorter girl who was his mate. Did I look like that? Dang it. I better not. I have a reputation to keep. I don't care about it. Our mate is standing in front of us! My mind yelled at me. Making my mind fuzzy with the emotions, I wanted to spring out of here. She was messing with my head! ...........
