My eyes remain closed as I let my instinct take over. For the very first time, I didn’t have anything in mind. The possible consequences and the regret I might have later on, it all disappeared the moment his lips devoured mine without wasting any moment. At that moment, I was just lost by him. As I responded to his deep kisses, my mind began to blur with thoughts of what can really happen inside this restroom. With his hand slowly going down from my cheek to my shoulder, I had no other thoughts except if this will even really happen. One thing for sure, I wasn’t in my right mind anymore, because I was… then this wouldn’t have happened. He broke the kiss as I gasped in air, breathing properly despite the change of atmosphere between us. He stared right into my eyes with those dark eyes as his hand moved it to my waist, lifting me up like a light feather then placing me on top of the sink countertop. His hand parted my legs slowly as he got closer enough to continue that longing kiss. I didn’t know what was going on anymore. It is like he has some kind of drugs in his kisses that makes me feel lightheaded, making me fall into his trap like his previous woman—like my junior model a few minutes ago. His gentle yet tickling touch to my bare legs made me moan into his mouth as he slowly raised his hand, stopping on my lap. “Do you want me to continue?” He says in a deep voice, in between our kisses. I broke the kiss and looked at him like a drunk ass woman while he returned it in the same gaze. “If you don’t stop me now, there is no turning back, Addy.” Without much thought, I reached for his tie and pulled him closer as my gaze went down to his now red lips. “Don’t be such a tease.” Those were the last words I managed to tell before I kissed him, not letting him speak a single word. His deep and rough kiss earlier suddenly turned into a gentle one like he wanted to savor this moment. I let my arms circle around his neck, pulling him closer, as his hands rest on my lap still. It was the instinct that took over me… until I felt his hand getting higher on my thighs. This is wrong! My eyes opened wide as his pair of closed eyes greeted me. I broke the kiss and immediately pushed him away too hard without any word that he almost slipped. He looks up and glares at me as if I am such a crazy woman. “What the f**k, Adrianna?!” He growls like a mad wolf. “I should be the one saying that, fucker!” I went down from the countertop, fixing my dress, as I maintained my distance from him. “What do you think you are doing? Do you really think I’m like one of your countless women?!” He let out a scoff in disbelief. “Are you serious right now? I f*****g asked you just now!” “And you took advantage of my lost mind!” I raised my voice, arguing back with eyes wide at him. “I know how you never treat every woman you decide to play hit on, but I never thought that you would have the guts to actually play the sister of the man you killed!” Suddenly, he strides forward in anger, trapping me once more in his arms. His eyes are full of anger now as mine gazes back in the same rage. I lean back to create space between our faces so what happened earlier won’t happen again. “I already told you many times, Adrianna Rae Garcia. I. DID. NOT KILL. YOUR. BROTHER!” He emphasizes each word, but it doesn’t have any effect on me… like before. With all my strength, I push his big build away from me as I smirk while shaking my head a little. “Defend yourself all you want, Zachary Auguste Cuevas, but you can never change my mind. In my eyes, you are already the enemy. A disgusting and shameless person I know.” I firmly said. He was about to take a step when I immediately pointed at him while shooting daggers from my eyes. “Don’t you ever think of trying to approach or be near me again, Zachary. You may think that I am some weak woman who will instantly fall for your playful trip like your girls, you might want to think again.” I slowly lowered down my hand as he stood properly in his spot, raising his head as a sign of surrender. “I do hope that this will be the last time we will be seeing each other privately, Zachary. The last thing I want is for people to actually think we are each other’s acquaintances even though we aren’t.” I didn’t give him much time to speak back anymore as I left the restroom in a hurry, making sure that he wouldn’t even bother to do something stupid. Luckily enough, he didn’t bother following me as my way out became peaceful as I expected it would be. I walked and continued walking in a hurry as I breathed heavily like I just ran a marathon. “f*****g hell!” I exclaimed the moment I reached my car as all the memories from earlier started flooding in. His touch. His lips. His gaze. His deep voice. All of it keeps echoing in my ear and showing up in my mind like a damn non stop train! Here I thought I was keeping a junior model of mine earlier to save herself from the misery she could have with that man’s presence in her life, I ended up just doing the same as hers. I ended up falling for the trap that he set so well it made me fall right in without any clue. I drove in silence as my way to the club was nothing but having a music blasting on throughout the entire car and ride. However, no matter how much I raised the volume, it just remained the same. My mind is still full of him and I can still hear his voice to the point that I just want to put the loudest speaker on each side of my ear, thinking that it could help me forget what happened. But it is a complete nightmare indeed. “I thought you ditch us already, Anna!” Ryleigh greeted me as soon as I arrived in my VIP room. My lips were sealed as I passed by her, only to take one of the empty bottles from the table and pour alcohol on it, higher than usual. Despite Ryleigh and Blair trying to stop me from my behind, I gulp it all in and let that bitter taste fill my tongue. If getting wasted tonight will help me forget about what happened, then I would gladly do so. I will do whatever it takes to forget what happened. “Chill, girl! I know you had a busy month and day, but I didn’t know you were this eager to drink!” Ryleigh exclaimed as she pulled me on the couch, making me sit there. “What the hell is wrong with you?” “Does it always have to be something wrong with me for me to drink like this?” I pointed out. “She got a point, Ry.” Blair took the bottle of alcohol then poured more on my glass. “You drink it, Anna. I support your desire of getting wasted tonight.” I didn’t hesitate gulping down everything that Blair poured in my glass until the last drop of it. And sticking to her words of supporting me, she poured another one with such a big grin as if this side of me does excite her so much. Who wouldn’t when I have been controlling my alcohol intake most of the time? Ryleigh suddenly stole the glass from my hand before I could even drink it. “Look, I don’t care if you just want to drink, but we both know that if you get out of this club tonight completely wasted, Martha will be in rage. You wouldn’t want any kind of issue after being the star of the ball earlier, right?” She tried negotiating. “That is why we are in the VIP room, Ry! I can get wasted here whenever I want to and that is and will never be a problem! Besides, someone will still drive me home anyway.” I leaned closer to her face as I sneakily stole back my glasses from her. “I know that my parents have people following me.” She watches me gulp down another glass with hesitation until she finally surrenders, letting out a heavy sigh. “Fine! Do whatever you want! But you will stay only here. The last thing we all want is to see your drunk face in the tabloids by tomorrow morning.” She exclaimed. I let out a giggle as I blew her a kiss before pouring another alcohol on my glass. It is funny, actually, how Ry kept acting like the mother of our small circle of friends when I am a year older than her. In fact, both Blair and I are older than her yet she seemed to be the one to have the two of us wrapped in her hand. The night continued as I kept my promise to Ry that I will only stay in our room, getting wasted and letting myself out. I don’t know how many bottles we already had, but one thing for sure is that the moment my vision starts to blur, I am already at my limit. The loud music starts to become unclear as well. “I… I will go… to the restroom!” I shouted to my friends, making sure that they will hear it before I left the room. However, the moment I got out, swaying here and there, and before I could even reach the hallway, everything went black. I recognize that strong perfume. I sniff and sniff until the smell becomes clearer as I slowly open my eyes, only to be greeted by the bright sun from the outside. My eyes closed once more to adjust to the brightness as I slowly tried to get up, only to get that immense pain in my head. f*****g hangover. A groan escapes my lips as my hand touches my hand, hoping that it has some magic to cure that damn pain. Slowly, I raised myself up and opened my eyes to look around me. As soon as I managed to do so, an unfamiliar gray painted wall greeted me with only a few pieces of furniture around the room. On the left side has a single couch and a cabinet containing some books while on the right side has some of the clothes which I believe are owned by a man because no woman would have several polo shirts in their wardrobe… unless they really love wearing it. However, not a single picture around the room. Despite the throbbing pain, I stand up from the bed and approach my heel as it rests peacefully next to the single couch. I slowly tiptoe, barefooted, while looking around the unfamiliar place I am in. One thing for sure is that nothing happened. I still have my clothes on still… unless I didn’t remove it? But that is impossible considering how clean the room is! “Glad to see you are awake now.” Before I could even reach the door, it flew open as a familiar voice echoed across the room. My eyes widened as I stood up straight, wishing that my hunch was wrong. However, the moment I turned around with expectations that I was just hallucinating, his annoying face with a smirk on greeted me as he held a glass of water with a small plate on the other hand. “You—” “Before you think about anything bad… it’s not like I will ever be good in your eyes anyway,” He says while walking inside the room. “Nothing happened, okay?” I wasn’t sure if that was supposed to keep me calm or not. I am in Zachary’s room for goodness sake! How can I even calm down?! “Where am I? What am I doing here?” I questioned. “Isn’t your head in pain? How about curing that first before I answer your question?” He insisted, placing the glass and plate by the small table near the couch. I raise a brow after glancing into it then to him, making him sigh. “Don’t worry. I didn’t put anything in your drink. I am not a psycho.” I let out a scoff, rolling my eyes in return. Without hesitation, I walked near him and took the medicine and water to help cure my headache. He remained silent the whole time as he watched me gulp down the rest of the water until I place it back on the table already. “So?” “I saw you unconscious in the club. I suspect that you had so much to drink, so I had no choice but to take care of you…” He glances at me awkwardly, making my brows furrow. “Even after what happened.” “Don’t even think of reminding me.” I threatened. “Then why did you take me here? I have my own place in case you forgot.” He looks at me as if he is done before letting out a sigh. “Look, Ms. Garcia, as much as I want to take you back in your place. It was risky and also because I don’t know where you live.” He answers as calmly as he can. “You could have just asked my friends or called Annalee to ask my manager to pick me up!” I insisted with lame excuses. “Woman, it was three in the morning. Do you really think I will bother Annalee just to ask your manager if she can pick you up? As much as I want to take you back to your place, it is never in my will to disturb someone’s rest.” He explained in a convincing tone. “As for your friends, they are already too wasted as well to even say a proper word. I had to let my bodyguards take them to a spare room in the club so they can rest there.” “Spare room in the club?” I repeated in confusion. He nodded innocently. “It is my spare room in case I am too wasted to drive back here.” He has his own spare room in that club? “Wait… Don’t tell me…?” “That I own Charvary? I’m sorry to say this, but yes, I do. In fact, your afterparty wouldn’t even be possible if I don’t own that club.” He revealed in such proudness obvious in his tone. How small the world can really be, huh? From being my upper boss to becoming the owner of the club I usually go to, if this is not fate playing with me, then I don’t even know what it is anymore. All I know is that I need to get out of here now. “Where’s my bag?” I ask while looking around. “Am I supposed to know where it is?” He sarcastically said, making me scoff. “What an asshole.” I whispered to myself, but I am sure he heard it pretty well with the way he just suddenly laughed. “Can you lend me your phone instead? I will book a cab instead.” He didn’t say a single word and only took out his phone from his pockets, extending his hand for me to take his phone. But the moment I touched his phone, he suddenly pulled me near him. He uses his arm to lock me in an embrace and his strength to stop me from getting away. I looked up to him with a glare, but I only got a simple stare. “What the f**k are you doing, Zach?! Let go of me!” I tried loosening his hold, but it was no use. His hold became tighter until even the slightest movement was already impossible. Without a single word coming out of his mouth, he locks his gaze at me as he slowly leans until there are only a few inches left away until our lips touch. I could already feel his heavy breath as he kept his gaze on me still. “Don’t you think it is better to finish what we didn’t finish yesterday?” He whispered in such a deep tone. My brows furrowed in confusion until realization hit me. Before he can even lean closer, I gather my strength and push myself away from him before landing a loud slap on his cheek, causing him to almost lose his balance because of the impact. “A f*****g jerk! I already gave you a warning, didn’t I?” I bursted out. Instead of giving me any response, he stood there like a freaking statue. He only touched his cheek and maintained the same position he was in after I slapped him. I looked at him in anger as my breathing became heavy because of the overwhelming madness. “I told you to never touch or be near me again, Zachary!” I raised my voice. He took a deep breath before standing up properly this time. “Then you should have done it yourself.” He whispered at first before turning his head to face me. “Then you shouldn’t have let me see you unconscious in my f*****g club, Adrianna!” “Wha—” “I know you hate me to the guts, Adrianna, but it doesn’t give you any right to just slap me after I helped you!” He burst out in anger. I could see his veins on his neck, pertaining to the fact that he really is angry about this. “I gave you my warning, Zachary. It is you who didn’t take it well.” I reminded him without even hesitating to argue back despite his anger. He stares at me for a few seconds before suddenly approaching me slowly while speaking his words. “And because of that, I assure you that I will never leave your life again, Adrianna. I will make sure that you will think differently of me every single encounter that we have.” He says. Every step back I make, he speaks his words clear to let me know that he indeed has a plan. “I will make sure that there will be no days when you won't feel my presence because I will be lingering around you. I will make sure that the person you accuse of something he didn’t do will be the same person who will make you realize that you actually need me.” “I will never—” My back hits the hard surface, making me stop and trapped in his arms and gaze yet again. I look up to meet those dark eyes as I gulp in fear… something first I felt since I met him. “And when all of that happens, you will be the one crawling back to me and begging me to accept you in my life, Adrianna.” He swears with those determined eyes. I yeet his arms on each of my sides as I take a step forward, replacing the fear I had earlier with braveness. “Just like you, I will also make sure that none of what you say will happen, Zachary.” I whispered enough for him to hear. “You never know what could happen, Addy. You might see me as the enemy today, but the next thing you know, I might be the only ally you have left.” He remarked. I shake my head with a smirk. “Oh I know, Zachary.. because you will always remain the enemy in my eyes and nothing can change that.”
