"And your name?"
"Winter"
I held my chest up high, hoping this was my breakthrough. After consistent pushes from Zuri, I decided to make decisions for my own.
Young, breathtaking and charming; as Zuri would describe me, I had a great way of socialising with people. Yes, I talked, laughed and enjoyed people.
But when my feet would touch the stage and a large crowd of expectations, I felt their eyes bore into my skin like a screwdriver would a wall.
Nothing changed after the two years of practice and scholarship college seat.
I joined to be a degree holder in Fashions and Technology, when my parents disowned the idea and made me switch my future to medicine.
Staring at the medical language took me nowhere, but the headmaster's office twice for having submitted a heart instead of a liver.
Until Isabelle, my close friend, called one day to send an advertisement for a ramp walk, which completely changed my life.
Because I met those eyes that stared into my soul, during the walk.
I met Mr Zeus.
WINTER
"You never told me that...........you wanted to meet now."
Isabelle munched on cheese sandwiches and an Americano.
She was the foodie you would find in a city, who could eat all her money away and still be happy, with a loan in her hands. Fresh out as a MBA graduate, we were high school buddies who reunited at the city. Celebrating our eight years of being together, at our school reunion was our next plan. That is how crazy the two of us were.
Individiually she was a good listener, and myself an elocutionist.
So she often made arrangemnts to meet even when a load of work were left back at home.
"I was thinking of something, and instantly your drunken face last night came into view"
Fuck you.
"Talk to me"
She also had a sweet mouth, and by lord, she knew all those secrets hidden behind 'never say that' zone as well.
I had a dozen things to say, after yesterday, when I crashed her party, drank till my knees were collapsing, only to cry and babble nothing that made sense.
"Alright, you sound like my lawyer"
"I am one"
Oh yeah.
She did take law after her grandmother's death wish, but left it halfway to start business. Since her dad had two daughters and thought of writing over the business to some nephew, due to his assumptions girls couldnt handle big things, Isa was after showing her dad she could handle bigger things.
However, she invested her trust funds and college scholarship on a tailoring shop, that started off with stitched beauties, designed and done by a greater American company, who collaborated instantly after hearing her investments.
Today, its a growing business and she was doing good for herself, and I was so happy for her.
"I don't care, Isa. I don't wanna talk about it"
"Your controlling the urge to"
Fucking lawyers.
"Maybe Eva is your bestie and just not me"
"Says who?"
And I fell for it like any other time, I would.
I told her everything.
Meaning everything.
