Chapter 26

Leas POV

"You owe me an explanation" I tell Nathan as we enter his room. I looks at me and his about to say something when a knock on the door stops him. He turns around and open the door.

Damon is standing on the other side, panting like hell.

"I'm sorry, Nathan. But you have to come, their's trouble in the foyer." He manage to say between breaths. He looks past Nathan and sees me, and he gives me a wink. I giggle and Nathan coughs to regain Damons attention.

"Sorry, just happy for you." He smiles and look at me.

"What's the problem, Damon?" Nathan asks with a sly grin. Damon looks serious again before turning his attention back to Nathan. I feel a pain in my chest and I know Cain is in trouble.

"Alpha Kyle and Alpha Blade is fighting." I freeze, unable to think for a second before I burst out my first reaction.

"I have to help him!" I yell, about to run past Nathan but he blocks my way.

"No way in hell. Stay here and I will take care of it." He growls. I feel the panic rise in my chest. Cain can't fight against another Alpha. He will get killed.

"Nathan please, just let me help him." I beg him but he just shakes his head.

"I'm sorry babe, but I can't risk losing you." He says with his back to me.

"Damon you stay here and don't leave her out of your sight." He orders him. I can't believe him. I watch as Damon walks in and takes me to the bed and Nathan runs down the corridor.

"I'm sorry, Lea. He's just trying to keep you safe." Damons looks at me with a little smile and I return it.

"No, I'm sorry."

"For what?" He grins and I take a step closer to him.

"For this." I take my arms around his head and pull it down just as I lifts me knee up, kicking him right in his face. The blow knocks him out instantly and I run out the door. I run down the corridor and jump down the stairs. I'm on the 1st floor and I see Nathan standing with his Gamma on the edge of the stairs, ready to walk down. I can hear snarls and growls in the foyer.

'We haven't taken the elixir. We can't shift.' Blade tries to explain, but I don't care. All I care about is getting Cain to safety. I start running and Nathan turns around seconds before I jump over his head.

"No Lea!" I hear him growl but it's too late. I shift mid-air and when I land, Blade shakes her snow white fur. I see Cain's wolf, Cody on the floor with a red wolf hovering over him. Blade makes a vicious snarl and everyone in the foyer submits to her. The red wolf backs away from Cody, his eyes is fixating on her, when she walks closer. She walk past Cody and I hear Cain through the mind link.

'I'm sorry, Lea.' Cody whimpers and Blade snarls at him, baring her teeth near his throat. He bare his neck for her. The red wolf snarls at her and she runs forward. She jumps on his back, bites down in his shoulder and rips out a big lump of flesh. The wolf howls in pain and Blade jumps off. We snarl at him but he won't submit. He storms forward, biting after his front leg but we avoid him and sink our teeth in his throat.

"Lea, stop!" Nathan shouts. He's standing a few meters away from us with Damon and his Gamma. Damon has blood all over his face and I feel guilty. Blade lets go of the wolf. He collaps on the floor, blood is flowing everywhere and we face Nathan.

'Blade please, stop.' I beg her. But she doesn't answer me. She bares her teeth at Nathan and he hold up his hands.

"Please Lea, shift back." He begs me and I try to force the shift but I can't. Blade is too strong.

'Blade stop it, now!' I roar at her but she ignores me. Her body is filled with rage and I'm not even sure she can hear me right now.

'She wants Jeremiah.' I tell him, entering his mind. 'This is not a mind link, is it?' He asks confused. 'No.' Blade snarls at him. I hear bones snapping and then I feel Jeremiah's big body rubbing up and down her shoulder. I still can't hear Blades thoughts but I can hear Jeremiah's.

'Please baby, you have to shift. Do it for me.' He begs her.

'Everyone get out.' I hear Nathans voice to everyone through the mind link in his mind and everyone in his pack walks out the packhouse.

He keeps rubbing his body up against Blade and it calms her mind. I can finally communicate with her.

'Blade, we need to shift. Give me back the control.' I tell her. I feel her nod and she creeps to the back of my mind.

I force the shift and feel my bones snapping into place. I rise from the floor and rush over to Nathan. He embraces me instantly and keeps a tight grip around my waist and neck, while he inhales my scent. I feel dizzy and exhausted all of the sudden and before I can say anything, the world goes black.
