I stare at Anne as she waltzes around with multiple dresses that she picked for me. Nothing looks appealing and with each sparkling white dress that is brought to me, I feel more and more uneasy. I force a smile each time she brings something else and sip from the third glass of champagne again, trying to ignore the bubbling frustration and anxiety that clings to me. “Oh, you’re so hard to please!” Anne whines and her shoulders slouch as she pushes the dress into the shopkeeper's arms as if it was good for nothing. I shrug my shoulders lightly and avoid looking at her as she walks off to find something else to bring out. The store was empty. Hauntingly so.
