“We need to get you out of here.” He speaks without anything else as an introduction and if it weren’t for the initial shock, I might have had slapped him right now. Instead, I gawk at him like a child and when he tugs at my arm to make me follow him, I yank it free and hurry to put some distance between us. My blood is boiling and my anger has spiked to the point I don’t feel like I have any control over it. “What are you doing here?!” I bark at him and the man stiffens with unease. He either didn’t have an answer, or the answer he had was not going to please me. “Persephone, please.” He pleads as he tries to close the distance between us. I immediately step away, keeping him at a safe and almost comfortable distance. The comfortable distance would have been a whole state away, now
