The trio met with Director McNally and the three council members at the headquarters for debriefing. The conference room was tense, and most council members could not tolerate both Layton brothers' hybrid energy collectively in one room. It put their wolves on edge. If it were in an open space, the level of dominant energy would be more tolerable. However, when enclosed and together, it suffocated even an alpha wolf. There was a reason they referred to them as the Beastly brothers. They thought of them as an abomination to shifters everywhere; they hosted a shifter energy with too much power and dominance for one man to control. With a mate, however, they were much calmer. Their beasts were no longer as driven to challenge and dominate. They were more controlled and almost neutralized.
