HATRED AND ABANDONMENT CHAPTER FIVE Amelia's POV Was it really my fault that I was adopted? Being adopted isn't a crime, right? I thought as I looked at the devil seated in front of Kessler. "How could you?" I asked. "I told you to watch your back, but you wouldn't," Elena said, sticking out her tongue at me. "Honey, I'm feeling uncomfortable with her presence around me," Elena said, changing her face. "Do you want her out of this pack or this house?" I watched Kessler stupidly ask the fool in front of him. "I don't want her out of this pack yet, I want her to wait and see what is going to hit her next but for the time being, push her out of your office so we can continue," Elena said. Kessler didn't allow Elena to finish her statement before he roughly pushed me outside and locked the door. I lay on the floor with tears flowing down my cheek and my heart thundering in pain. If I at least expected anyone to hurt me, it shouldn't have been Elena. I thought she had forgotten about everything since it happened a year ago, not knowing she had some dirty tricks up her sleeve. I stood up and staggered back to my room in pain. I wish I was brave enough to report all that has been happening to Alpha Barker, he would immediately take action and remove me away from this pack, but the love I have for Kessler does refrain me from telling him anytime we meet up. I was scared of him hurting Kessler or anyone I knew. I didn't know if I slept all through that night as the thought of Kessler and Elena kissing filled up my mind. The next morning being D-Day for the banquet, I woke up and looked at my awful face in the mirror. I quickly pinpointed the places I would be hiding with a lot of make-up. I was about to apply my face cream when I heard a knock on my door. I pushed the door open and met the angry face of Kessler. "What are you doing when you ain't dressed up at this hour? I wouldn't want you coming late to the banquet as the hostess. Clean up your stupid self and put on the ash gown I bought for you last week." Kessler said before walking away. I shut the door and walked over to my dressing mirror to continue from where I stopped. I get to do everything myself since Kessler had already told his omegas to stop attending to all my needs. I shoved all negative thoughts aside and focused on making myself look beautiful to the people we were inviting. I finished and walked downstairs into the car already waiting for me. The drive down to the hall is just five minutes and within five minutes, I got to the venue. I looked at the beautifully decorated venue as I walked in elegantly. I turned towards my left and saw Kessler having some discussion with his fellow Alpha's. I wanted to smile at him but the cold look he gave made me throw my face away unhappy. "Feeling unhappy," Elena said as she brushed her hands past me. I wanted to attack her but I noticed all eyes on me so I held myself back while I walked towards the restroom. I was busy staring at a beautiful couple when I mistakenly missed my steps and fell on a hard body. I stood up really scared, "I'm sorry," I said bowing my head. "You don't have to apologize," the handsome voice came as he held my shoulder to stand upright. I looked up and met the face of a charming young man. I looked around and noticed all the ladies were drooling at him. "Who is he?" I wondered. No lies, his eyes were charming like the deep blue sea, he wore a white T-shirt and left the top unbuttoned which made him look sexier. I was still lost in thoughts when Luna Susan walked up to me. "Hi Amelia, good day sir," she said bowing at the handsome stranger standing in front of me. "Hi Susan," I responded. "Thank you for hosting us, would you love to meet the new Luna's?" She asked, pointing at a group of women standing. "Sure," I responded. We both bowed at the stranger before taking our leave. I never had a close connection with Luna Susan so I thought it wouldn't be necessary to start up a conversation with her about the stranger we left standing. "You all should meet our hostess, Luna Amelia. Amelia, meet our new Luna, here's Luna Lydia, Luna Raina, and Luna Linda," she said while I smiled and hugged each one of them. "Oh! She's the Luna! I thought the lady hovering around Alpha Kessler was the Luna because it's clearly obvious," the one said to be Luna Raina said pointing towards my left direction. I turned to look at the direction she was pointing at and saw Elena dressed in a dark blue dress exactly the color of Kessler's suit. That was the color I wanted to pick out this morning before he told me to change to an ash color. Was it because of Elena he asked me to change to another color? I thought. "Wait! Is it that Alpha Kessler is mated to two women?" Luna Lydia asked. I held back the tears forming in my eyes as I turned to the ladies. "That would be all for now ladies, I will see you all later," I said, faking a smile. After they were gone, I turned back and started walking towards the stairs. I hadn't climbed the third step when I felt something enter into my already teary eyes. I wanted to clean it off when I missed my steps again. I expected my back to hit the heavy stairs but I opened my eyes and felt a strong hand holding me from tripping. I looked up and saw the strange guy that had helped me earlier. "Thank you," I said. "Do you have to follow you around so you don't fall?" He teased me. I blushed while listening to his handsome voice. I suddenly stopped when I noticed Kessler's angry face from the other end of the hall. When he noticed I wasn't leaving the strange guy anytime soon, he walked up to us angrily with Elena tailing behind him as usual. "Still wondering when she will grow up and stop tailing him around," I said as they approached. "Did you just hear her?" Elena asked, angrily pointing at me. "Watch your tongue woman!" Kessler shouted, drawing the guest's attention to us. "I can see that you are about making out with another man when you are clearly someone's Luna," Kessler said, rolling his eyes at the strange guy. "I..." I was about to make a sentence before the strange guy interrupted. "If she's truly your Luna, then she should be the one tailing behind you, not some side chick," the strange guy said. If someone had told me that a handsome-looking guy like this stranger standing in front of me had a bad mouth, I would have argued because what on Earth did he just say? I smirked, staring at Elena's angry face. "We need to address our guests, they are seated and waiting for us already," Kessler said, staring at me and trying to avoid the strange guy's insult. He really looks intimidated.
