The morning was a breath of the freshest air I've ever inhaled. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my body. It was so nice to finally have the room and bed to myself. From then on, the only other body that should occupy that bed should be Ellie's. Furthermore, Jax was calmer now, and I was free from his constant whinings during the night whenever Meredith slept beside me. The only thing that nearly dampened my mood was the realisation that it took me a long time to get rid of Meredith. The fact that I saw the signs of toxic behaviour brewing within her and ignored them made me question my mental status. I sighed and tugged on the rope that held the blinds. The morning sun streamed in and bathed my face. It was perfect timing. A new day means a new phase in my life.
