"Where have you been since yesterday?"
I stepped into my manor, and the first thing that welcomed me was Meredith. She had her hands on her hips and gave me a look of scrutiny.
"Since when have my movements been of concern to you?" I retorted.
"It's unusual of you to disappear for more than twenty-four hours. I'm only concerned about your welfare, you know." She rolled her eyes, and by goddess, I wanted to rip her apart.
"Well, thanks for your concern." I tried to move past her, but she blocked my way.
"Meredith," I growled.
Jax growled along with me in my head. I hated the fact that the first time I heard from him in hours was a sound of anger.
