Chapter Thirteen - Out

It wasn't long until Arthur helped her mount the carriage as they went to the center of Flora, where numerous sightseeing, markets, and many more attractions were to be seen. Venus does not go out often, so some places and structures here are unfamiliar to her because the only places she goes to are the flower shops and the tailor shop. “We’re here, milady,” Arthur excitedly told her. She immediately went down from the carriage and gasped after seeing a huge structure that was named ‘Public Library’. “I-I didn’t know a library this huge exists in the center of Flora,” Venus cupped her mouth because she was too surprised. Arthur smiled, “This is where I slept before I stayed in your kingdom,” He informed her, so her eyes widened. “W-What? No one found you there sleeping? Is that even allowed?” Venus worriedly asked, so he amusingly nodded. “Fortunately, no one, this place is too shiny, but no one goes here,” Arthur sadly informed her, so she bit her lower lip. “I apologize, Your Highness, I didn’t know that you were experiencing this before,” Venus whispered. “You don’t have to, I’m still embarrassed by the fact that you allowed me to stay there at your kingdom,” He admitted. “No, it’s safer for you to be there, so I hope you don’t move out here again until you get back on your feet,” Venus firmly said. Arthur just looked at her intently, “You’re really something, milady, your kindness is what also makes you attractive,” He pointed out, making her blush. He realized what he just said and cupped his face, “I apologize, milady, you must find that uncomfortable,” Venus immediately shook her head, “N-Not at all, I was just surprised that you casually said that, that’s all,” Arthur cursed himself on the inside before he decided to offer his arms, “Shall we go inside, milady?” He invited her. Venus just smiled and happily accepted his offer before they decided to step inside of that lovely and enormous place. She wandered happily around the place after they entered. The public library was enormous, just like what they had inside of their castle. The walls and designs of the place were a combination of cream and gold. She couldn’t even take her eyes off of every shelf, every book and novel was arousing her appetite for reading. “This place is amazing, now I know where I’ll go if I get bored roaming around the palace,” She giggled. Arthur was just watching her with a smile plastered on his lips. He was glad that she was somehow being cheered up. The two of them decided to sit at a table where they could talk about the business they needed to do for both kingdoms. Everything was going quite well and she knew that sooner it would be a success, now all she has to do is to help him gather more clients and not just their kingdom. “The servants would arrive at the kingdom of Rose by this week, milady, is that alright? The ingredients as well are already there,” Prince Arthur mumbled while checking his piece of paper. “That’s great news, we’re almost done processing this, but still a long way to go for the tasting,” Venus replied. “I think that’s enough for our brain today, do you want to go somewhere else?” Arthur decided to wrap everything up from their table. “I-I don’t go out much, so you decided where,” Venus shyly told him, so he just excitedly nodded before standing up. “Come with me, I’ll take you to places where I go sightseeing after buying some meals,” Arthur smiled before escorting her out of the library. Venus knew that it was alright late noon, the sunset was about to set and she kind of wanted to see that happen today. He took her to places where they could buy sweet snacks and meals that would get them full before going to his usual spot. Venus got worried because they were carrying a lot of things while walking towards a forest, up to the busy cliff. “P-Prince Arthur, are you sure we're safe here on this path?” Venus worriedly asked while following him, so he just nodded. “Yes, milady, we're almost there, trust me, that place would blow you away,” Arthur insisted, so she did trust him. It wasn’t long until they finally went out of the tall bushes. Venus almost lost her grip on what she was holding upon seeing the magnificent view before her. “I-I can’t believe I’m seeing this, is that real?” Venus muttered in awe without starting her eyes off that view. The sun was setting at the center of the town, it was such a sight because its illuminating lights were all over the center of Flora. “It’s real, milady,” Arthur happily told her as he prepared their picnic mat and food just to look at it from afar. They decided to comfortably sit down and take off their shoes so they would not stain the mat that was filled with goodies they bought at the market. Venus was just silent while watching the view, she could feel the heavy feeling bolting up inside of her slowly disappearing. The sunset was just breathtaking, there was no one there, just the two of them breathing the same air. “Thank you for taking me out today, Prince Arthur,” Venus suddenly spoke, which surprised him for a moment. “Why would you thank me, milady?” Arthur curiously asked. She shifted her gaze at him before smiling. “I know that you took me out today to cheer me up, is that right? I apologize if I assumed,” She mumbled. He just looked at her intently before averting his gaze, “I apologize too, that is what I wanted to intend to do,” “I just can’t bear you seeing so down, your eyes are sore either, I can’t…stand it,” Arthur boldly admitted. Venus felt her heart skip a beat after she heard that statement, “You’re making me blush, Your Highness,” She fooled around. “If that is so, then I’m glad, milady,” Arthur looked at her intently, so it made her feel nervous for a moment. They stared at each other’s eyes and averted them when they felt like their cheeks were blushing beet red. ‘W-What is wrong with me?’ Venus thought while biting her lower lip. Her heart was racing, so she thought it was strange. When they noticed that it was getting late, the two of them decided to go clean up things before walking down the cliff. “I’m really glad you took me there, Your Highness,” Venus told him, “The best day I’ve ever had,” She added, so he felt his heart skip a beat. His wolf on the inside was rejoicing that he spent a lot of time with his mate, he couldn't ask for more. “I’m also honored that you trusted me to go to certain places,” He honestly said before clutching his chest. “I hope we can repeat that again,” Arthur added while closing his eyes. He was nervous about what she was about to say. He doesn’t want her to know the feelings he has for her especially because she was still married to someone else. “Of course, it would be fun if you take me to other places as well, it takes my mind off some things,” Venus admitted. “I’m glad to hear that,” Arthur just smiled before he decided to call some carriage to take them home to the palace. The two of them talked about a lot of things on the way home, they didn’t even realize that they were being too loud for the coachman. It wasn’t long until they arrived at the palace, laughing before staring at each other’s eyes the moment they arrived at the main entrance. “I’ll see you tomorrow, milady, it was really an honor that you came with me today,” Arthur approached her before kissing the back of her hands. Venus felt sparks over there, so she bit her lower lip before smiling, “I also hope we can repeat that again, Your Highness,” Even if they didn’t say it in words, the two of them knew that they grew closer to one another before they decided to bid each other goodbye. Venus arrived at her room and she couldn’t calm herself down because she felt like she was still there with him. She hasn’t felt this way before with someone else, she wanted to see numerous places with him again. Venus once again felt happy. But she can’t afford to be distracted because she still has so many plans to put down her husband and her best friend. “Milady? Are you alright?” Hanna panicked when she saw her tearing up once more, “W-Why are you crying milady?” Venus shook her head, “I-I’m just having so much fun, Hanna, I’m afraid it will all be exchanged for something worse,” She whispered before sniffing. Hanna couldn’t understand why her princess was acting that way. She knew that it started on the night of her wedding day. But she knew that whatever it is, her princess would be comfortable telling her about it someday if she was ready. “Milady, if things start not going your way, no matter what happens, I’ll be here right by your side,” Hanna smiled before hugging her. Venus appreciated what she did before hugging her back as she cried to her heart’s content. What she said comforted her well-being. “I’m really glad that you’re right here beside me, Hanna, I don’t know what I’ll do without you,” She whispered. “Don’t be silly, Your Highness,” Hanna sounded embarrassed at what she had just said, but Venus didn’t mind her. The two of them stayed in each other’s arms, it didn’t take Venus a while to compose herself because she had to do something. “Are you certain you’re alright now, milady? You can rest immediately,” Hanna suggested after seeing her sit at her study table. “I’m alright, Hanna, thank you for staying right beside me,” Venus just smiled before looking at her notes. “Did you have so much fun with Prince Arthur a while ago?” Hanna curiously asked so she stopped for a moment before smiling. “I did have so much fun,” She happily told her before sighing, “It’s been a while since I had so much fun,” Hanna could feel that she was smiling ear to ear even if she had her back facing her, ‘Could it be that her princess was starting to gain affection from him?’ Hanna thought before shaking her head. “I’ll go get you some snacks, milady, wait for me here,” Hanna bowed her head before leaving. Venus, on the other hand, was checking on the notes and envelopes placed on her table one by one. She cautiously looked from behind and when she was sure Hanna was gone, she started writing on her notes about the changes that she noticed. Venus was still nervous because she hadn't met his parents just yet, she was sure that it was about to happen soon enough. She clenched her fists before looking at the envelopes she had received. Venus tilted her head after noticing an elegant invitation. “What’s this?” She asked herself before deciding to open it. Her eyes widened after seeing that it was an invitation from Marie Alicia Pheon. “Greetings, Princess Venus Adelaide Fedora-Alberta, I’m writing this to formally invite you to a tea party that I’m hosting this weekend in the Daisy Kingdom. I would appreciate it if you could come, every maiden we were close with is invited. I hope to see you there as well. Sincerely Yours, Marie Alicia Pheon,” Venus almost lost her grip on the envelope before looking at the calendar, “This is tomorrow, what is she planning? I wasn’t invited to this tea party before,” She whispered nervously. She could feel her hands shaking, but at the same time, curious about what will happen tomorrow. To be continued…
