Kajora smiled and leaned forward.
“Safehold was a Paragon planet,” Jerry said, “and part of the Paragon Hierarchy, but it was very different from the others. It—”
“I know all about the planet. Get to the good stuff.”
“I'm setting the stage. It's what good storytellers do. Don't interrupt.”
She gave him a disapproving look, but didn't object.
“Now... where was I? Oh, yeah. Safehold wasn't like other Paragon planets. See, the typical Paragon planet is only minority Paragon. The population is mostly Swayed Reliants and half-Paragons. That's because Paragons hate the idea of doing any actual work. I think that's how they sort themselves into Tiers, too. If your neighbors see you working, then you're relegated to Tier 3.
