Chapter 16 – Waterlogged “I don't see him anywhere,” Kajora said, scanning the river. The van was flying directly over it and heading downstream. A wall of mist loomed ominously in the distance. “Nor do I.” Calael scowled. “He must have gone over.” “You mean the waterfall?” “Yes. We'll do the same.” “Can't we go around?” Kajora swallowed and glanced ahead. The wall of mist was approaching way too fast for her liking. “I think—” “It will cost us time. This way is direct. Hold on.” Kajora gripped the dashboard and stared wide-eyed out the windshield. The van sailed over the edge of the waterfall and plummeted towards the river below. She squeezed her eyes shut. After several interminable seconds, there was a sudden deceleration as the van's grav engine found something to push against.
