2. Who is My father?

Ace comes into the kitchen and sees a young man cooking in the kitchen. His back was to Ace's side.

Other side his twin sisters were sitting at the dinner table, eating their breakfast. When they see Ace, their eyes sparkle with happiness. Ace stopped his track and put the finger on his lips to motion them to keep quiet. Both girls nodes in understanding.

'Brother, Are you going to scare Uncle Leo?' Ace heard Abbey's voice in his mind.

"Yes... Just keep quiet. It will be fun....' Ace said his in mind.

' But what if uncle got too scared and started crying?' Gabby's voice filled with worry.

'Don't worry... Uncle won't cry. He is a strong and smart man. He will be ok.' Abbey said.

'Ok... If you say so....' Gabby node in understanding.

Both girls give Ace a big thumbs up. Then Ace slowly walked behind the man. He was going to surprise him.

"Ace... Good morning...." The man said without looking back at him.

"Ugh... Uncle Leo! How did you know that im behind you?" Ace asked as he dropped his shoulder in disappointment.

"See... I told you Uncle Leo is stronger and smart...." Abbey said to Gabby.

"When did you three talk? Wait, did you three mind linking again?" Leo asked surprisedly.

Both girls nodded their heads like good kids. Leo sighs helplessly. He knows they were wolves and an Alpha's pups. So they can mind link like other wolves. They are more intelligent than any wolf kid. Sometimes Leo feels helpless, knowing they block him when they are mind-linked secretly. So he can't be heard what they are saying to each other.

Leo turned to Ace with a big cheerful smile, and put a breakfast plate in front of Ace. Ace takes his seat. Leo is their mother's best friend. Leo always being their strict teacher, a loving cook, a smart babysitter, and a good listener.

Leo trained kids on some of the basic wolves' safety because they were living out of the pack. Without any pack, they become Rogues in other wolves' eyes. And Leo doesn't want another Alpha or wolf to attack babies for their pack's safety.

Leo was worried about their safety. So made sure there was no pack around this area before shifting with Nora and the Kids in this town. The town they stayed in was out of any Alpha territory. But there were some wolves in this town traveling and working around the area. so he made sure kids knew the basic wolf rules. Leo always stays with them so kids can grow up without fear.

But as kids grow Leo finds out that kids can mind link each and have some powers. Other side, Leo hides the news from Nora that her kids have special powers.

Nora already warns Leo not to tell kids about their wolf's identity and anything related to wolf life. She wants her kids to live a normal human life, not a dangerous wolf life because it will lead them to their father. This is the last thing she wants to happen.

"Wow! Fried eggs! My favorite. Thank you, Uncle Leo. I love you." Ace's eyes sparkled like stars, seeing his favorite breakfast. He began to eat breakfast.

"Daddy, we two also love you!!" Abbey and Gabby said in chorus.

"I love you too, my boy! And Daddy loves you too, my two beautiful princesses. And I can find you anything, everywhere because I can smell your sects. Like you can smell my scents every time we meet. Like you smell your Mommy scents and other stranger wolves too. Whenever we are close to you or long-distance, everyone has their special scent." Leo told them as he started eating his toast.

"Oh-oh! I can smell from long-distance people too. My nose is stronger than anyone." Ace rubs his nose proudly.

"Of course, my boy. You have a special power." Leo nodded in agreement.

"Daddy, we don't have any special power?" Abbey asked sadly.

"Oh! That's not true, my princess. You and Gabby can run faster. Faster than me and your brother. And that is your special power." Leo runs to them and gives them kisses on the forehead. He loves and treasures both girls like they are his own daughters.

"Yeh! We also have special power!" Gabby began to dance in her seat. She is a cheerful girl.

"Brother, did you hear what Daddy said?" Abbey looks at Ace with bright eyes.

Abbey and Gabby always called Leo Daddy because they saw Leo from their birth time. They both consider him as a father. And Leo didn't mind either. Nora also didn't care much earlier. In the human world, kids need parents. So Nora and Leo pretend their parents.

Only Ace knows that Leo is not their father because he never feels his father's bond with Leo. Ace has a hidden power to feel anyone's emotions when he physically touches them. But Ace hides his powers from Nora. Only his sisters and Leo know about his power. So Ace does not feel any father vibes from Leo, he never calls him Daddy. But he didn't mind that his little sisters called him Daddy. Both girls were happy to call Leo Daddy.

"Uncle Leo, can I ask you something?" Ace the mind linked to Leo. He already closed his mind link to his sisters so the conversation happened only between Leo and him.

Leo looked at him and nodded his head softly. Leo feels something going on in little Ace's head. Ace used a mind link to talk to him privately. That meant he didn't want his sisters to hear what he was going to ask. Leo walks to Ace and sits beside him.

"What did you want to ask?" Leo asked in a lower voice.

"Who is Carter? "Ace looked at him and asked carefully.

"Carter..." Leo's eyes widened in shock when he heard that name again. His heart fields with anger. Then he quickly composed himself. He didn't want Ace to find out how deep his anger for this person named Carter was.

"Where did you hear that name?" Leo held his anger and put on a regular smile.

"Mom shouted this name many times when she saw that nightmare. I want to know who he is. Why does mom always call his name and cry sadly in her nightmare? Uncle... I can feel you know him because I'm feeling the same anger in you as Mommy feels when she sees that nightmare. So tell me, uncle, Who he is? What is his relationship with my Mom?" Ace asked back-to-back questions with a serious face.

"Look... Yeah, I-I know him. But please, Ace, don't ask your Mom about him, OK? You are even not allowed to say this name out loud in front of her, OK? Promise me." Leo asks in a hurry.

"Ok. I won't say that name in front of Mom, promise. But you have to tell me all things about him." Ace nodded in understanding.

"Fine." Leo nodded his head in approval.

Ace looked at him, waiting for him to talk.

"He was... He was my and your mom's best friend. But he died five years ago. You were never born at that time...." Leo creates a flash story.

"You are lying, uncle," Ace said calmly.

"No... He was her friend. Don't you trust me?" Leo asked in a panic tone.

"I trust you, uncle. That's why I'm asking you about him. And it was true that he was my mom's friend. But he is not dead yet. You are lying to me about his death." Ace said calmly.

"How did you know that I'm lying to you?" Leo asked surprisedly.

"Because I can feel it...." Ace pointed his hand at the top of Alex's hand on the table.

"Oh..! Look at your mom and I... We both do not want to talk about that person. So can't we skip this subject? We can talk about something else." Leo tries to change the topic.

"Fine. Then can I ask another question?" Ace asked him.

"Okay, sure. But not related to him, OK..." Leo felt relieved knowing that Ace had left the topic.

"Who is my father?" Ace asked.

Leo opened his mouth to answer his question. But after hearing his question, Leo can't help but feel frustrated.

"I thought I told you not to ask about him. Then why do you ask this? Oh, s**t!" Leo closed his mouth in a hurry. But it's too late for that.

"So he is my father? Carter is my Father! Isn't it right, Uncle Leo? " Ace's eyes spark like a star as he finally finds the truth.

"No-No-No!! He is not- he is not! My boy, you have to forget about what I say..." Leo said in a panic tone.

"Calm down, Uncle Leo. I won't tell this to anyone. I'm just asking because I wanted to know that my father is the reason behind my Mom's situation. Because of him, my Mom has painful nights and nightmares on full moon nights." Ace nodded his head in understanding and said calmly. "So what are you going to do?" Leo asked in a worried tone. "I'll make sure that he will never meet my Mom in the future. I hate him for making my mom sad. I don't want a father like him!" Ace said full of hate. His eyes glow lightly.

Seeing Ace's anger toward his father. Leo sighed helplessly. He feels sad knowing that Carter's son hates Carter. But Leo knows what Carter did was not forgivable.

"Okay, just leave this topic here. Forget about him and continue your breakfast.” Leo clapped his hands together and cheered Ace.

"Ok..." Ace turned to his happy self.

All of them began to eat their breakfast.
