Chapter 15The Mating
Late afternoon
Agnes came upstairs at four with a tray of homemade chicken noodle soup, a hot roast beef sandwich, and a brownie sundae. Kane ate all of it and when Agnes came up to the room again at six with a steak, baked potato, and peas, he finished that too.
He hadn’t seen Gabriel since he left the suite earlier. He wasn’t supposed to lay eyes on him until the mating. According to Agnes, their pack thought it was bad luck.
“When will I see him?” Kane asked as she brought fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn for him at nine. “I feel ridiculous eating this much food.”
“You’re going to need the fuel.” Agnes put down the tray. “Eat…I’ll be back with dessert at eleven.”
