Beta's Mate

Lykos

  After we ate dinner with our mate and her friends, my brother and I bid them goodbye since we need to go back to the pack.

  The next day, Lynox and I get up early and got ready. We chose to wear something more casual, before we went down to the kitchen. We asked our pack chef Maria to prepare us breakfast good for five people and that she pack it in a basket.

  Maria is in the late forties woman from the delta line. She was once a warrior in the pack.

"Are you going on a picnic Alpha?" Maria asked as she put containers of food inside the basket.

"Nah, we just want to eat breakfast with some new friends." I told her.

  Maria closed the basket, then she narrowed her eyes on me. Since we acquired this pack, Maria has been the mother figure of the pack because we haven't found our Luna yet. She cooks and in charge of disseminating chores to everyone.  

"Are you perhaps going on a date?" Maria asked.

  I gaped at her while Lynox choked on the coffee he was drinking.

"I'll take that as a yes." Maria said.

  Then my beta Tyler entered the kitchen.

"Done with the morning border patrol alphas." Tyler said.

"How was the border?" I asked.

"All good." He answered.

"Where is Aleksei?" Lynox asked.

  Right on cue, Aleksei entered he kitchen with his mate Tessa.

"Good morning alpha." The two of them greeted in unison.

"How was our new boarders in the facility?" I asked, referring to the humans that tried to kidnap my mate.

"They won't talk. But as I observed them last night, I can tell that those men are from some gang or mafia. They are quite professional when it comes to keeping information." Aleksei said.

"What are you guys talking about?" Tessa, Aleksei's mate and Tyler's sister asked.

"Alpha got some humans locked up in the detention facility." Aleksei answered.

  Tessa turned to us.

"Why would you bring humans there? It's for rogues for goddess' sake!" Tessa exclaimed.

"What happened alpha?" Tyler asked.

"Those humans tried to kidnap our mate." Lynox said through his greeted teeth.

  When I remembered how scared our mate looked yesterday, I am so close to ripping those humans head off.

"Mate?" Both Maria and Tessa asked.

"Yes. Our mate." I said.

  Then Tessa turned to her brother and mate.

"You two knew?" She asked.

"Of course. I'm the beta." Tyler answered.

"I just found out yesterday babe." Aleksei said, and Tessa pouted.

"You should've told me babe." Tessa said, then she turned to me.

"Where is she? Is she upstairs?" She asked.

"No. And I will ask the two of you not to mention it to anyone else. That's an order." I said in alpha tone that they cannot ignore.

"Yes, alpha." Tessa and Maria said slightly bowing their head.

"She's human, and based on what happened yesterday she's in danger. As much as possible we want her safe." Lynox said.

"In that case, I'll add more food in this basket. The Luna needs to be well and healthy." Maria said and she began putting more food inside the basket. 

  I smiled at Maria's thoughtfulness.

"You're going to her? Can I come? Can I come? I want to meet her!" Tessa exclaimed.

"As much as I want you to be friends with our mate, you're too energetic. You're like an energizer bunny. I don't want to overwhelm her." I told her, and Tessa pouted. 

"However, I want you to take over the interrogation with those humans in the facility." Lynox told Tessa, who grinned like Jeff the killer.

"Oh boy. There's that creepy grin." Tyler said.

"Tyler, you'll come with us, and Aleksei you're in charge here." I said.

"Yes, alpha." they said in unison.

"The basket's ready alpha." Maria said, then she handed the basket to me.

"Let's go." I said.

  My brother, Tyler and I went outside the house, and we decided to use Tyler's truck instead of our car.

  When we got to the hotel, we went straight to the penthouse suite. But when we were still in the elevator, we noticed Tyler looked agitated.

And when we got to the top floor, even before we could knock on the door, we noticed that Tyler was shaking, his eyes were dilated and its' beginning to change color as if his wolf is trying to take over.

  When I noticed that he took a sniff and his eyes entirely changed its color, I immediately grabbed him by his shirt and slammed him on the wall.

"Stand down Turk!" I growled the command on Tyler's wolf.

"N-No!" Turk, Tyler's wolf sneered.

  Lynox rolled his eyes and he brought forwards his lycan, Cyrus then he grabbed Tyler's neck.

"Are you disobeying your alpha? Your prince?" Lynox growled lowly.

  Tyler or Turk had no choice but to show their neck in submission. He's in the presence of a royal, and our command will always be stronger than any alpha.

"N-No alpha. B-But I need to get inside. I need to. Mate's inside." Turk said.

  Lykos and I looked at each other, then we let go of Tyler.

"Your Luna is inside with your mate. If you don't want to scare them away by your stupid action, I suggest you calm down and let Tyler handle this." Lynox sneered.

"Step back." I snarled.

  And just like that, Tyler regained his control in his body back, and he was panting hard.

"Thanks Alpha. Turk never lost control like that." Tyler said.

"Your mate is inside that room, so I understand." Lynox said.

"Now be a gentleman, and don't scare them." I said, and Tyler nodded.

  Lynox ran his fingers through his hair and then he knocked on the door. After three knocks, the door opened and our mate's black haired friend Tricia opened the door.

"Oh! You're back! Come in." Tricia said, then she opened the door wider.

"Thanks." I mumbled, as we all entered the suite.

  Tricia then closed the door behind us. 

"Have you guys eaten? We brought food." I said, as Lynox raise the basket in his hand.

"Yey breakfast! We just woke up actually and we're still asking ourselves what are we going to eat for breakfast." Tricia said.

  Lynox went to the dining table and he began unpacking the food we brought. When I noticed Tricia looking at Tyler, I decided to introduce them.

"This is Tyler, our executive assistant, and also our friend." 

"Hi." Tyler mumbled, while he looked around.

"Hi there." Tricia said eyeing Tyler from head to foot. Then she turned to me.

"I'll just call the girls." Tricia said and went inside the bedroom.

  I turned towards Tyler.

"Is it her?" I asked him, but he shook his head.

"Then it's the blonde one." Lynox said.

"Blonde? But they're dumb!" Tyler whined.

"Who the f**k are you calling dumb blonde you ass?"

  We all turned around and all three friends are standing there. Tricia was suppressing a laugh, our mate looking curious but beautiful as ever, and of course Candice who has her arms crossed over chest, and glaring towards Tyler.

  Tyler on the other hand stiffened as his eye dilated and nostrils flared while looking at Candice. Without a doubt, Candice is our beta's mate.

"Hi. We brought you breakfast." I said.

  My mate grinned when she heard breakfast.

"Really? You shouldn't have. You already helped us with so much." Our dear mate said.

"It's no big deal. Come on, let's eat." I said.

"Uhm who's the guy?" Our mate, Roe asking pointing at Tyler.

"Our assistant Tyler." Lynox answered.

  Candice narrowed her eyes on Tyler and stalked her way towards him. 

Tyler visibly gulped as his mate made her way towards him.

"Not all blondes are dumb. FYI, I am our school's valedictorian." Candice sneered.

"Alright, you've made your point Candice. Let's eat." Roe said grabbing Candice's arm and pulled her towards the dining table.

  As the girls began checking the food on the table, I approached Tyler and patted his back.

"Good luck Beta Tyler. Your Beta female will surely put you on your place." I whispered to him and I went towards the table to join the others for breakfast.
