I can't help the smile that spreads across my face when I see Chris and Esme walk into the dining room hand in hand. They take their seats across from me and Esme finally meets my eyes. "What Hugo" she says, flustered by my smirk. I'm happy she is giving Chris a chance. I don't see a mating mark, but if I know Esme, she wants to get to know him before she goes all in. My heart squeezes in my chest when I see the panic on her face after I say the Fire Ring pack has gained a Beta Female. I will miss having her in the group but this is where she is meant to be. Caroline's acceptance of Esme despite being a witch speaks volumes about my sister's heart. It proves even more she is nothing like Cain.
