CHAPTER SIX
Ilse winced as, with as much gusto as with his highway driving, Sawyer pulled the two person ATV off the side of the road, behind the growling engine of the off-road vehicle in front of them. The more than million-acre national park combined a mixture of rainforests, mountainous outlooks, rocky beaches, and wild coastlines. Now, they found themselves deep amidst the trees, the salt from the ocean lingering on the air around them, though the water wasn't visible from here. Ranger Lee cut his engine, throwing one leg over the side of his machine and hopping deftly onto the isolated, muddy trail.
