CHAPTER FOUR Ilse settled next to Agent Sawyer in the sedan with tinted windows. She'd grown accustomed to his reckless highway driving and buckled quickly. “You good?” Sawyer said, glancing at her. The thin-framed agent had sandy-hair visible beneath the brim of his baseball cap. His green eyes reminded Ilse of deep forests and poison ivy. His fingers tapped against the steering wheel as he pulled from the parking lot outside the warehouse, up the long, winding road to the highway. As they picked up speed, Ilse replied, “I'm fine.
