Chapter 10 - The date

POV

"Hi" she said shyly

She looked smoking hot... Its making me want to want to do dirty things to her body... I promised her no s*x so no s*x the end of the night...

"You look hot Maddie" I say

She blushes... How is it even possible for a woman to be so darn hot and so cute the same time...

"You're ready hotstuff?" I ask her

She nods closing the door behind her...

I lead her to my car, Jack is driving me because I'm going to have wine at dinner and I don't want to drive after drinking, I have a son at home to think about, so there's no way I'd leave him alone while I need to get full custody of him so Quinn and Aurora could look after him... there's no way I'm letting Isabella Rossellini anywhere near my son...

I opened the back door for her and let her get in first then I got in...

"Jack meet maddie, maddie this is my family driver Jacky" I introduce them to each other...

They nod towards each other and... Jack drives... We were headed to an Italian restaurant near West Hollywood, called Ricci's West Hollywood restaurant... I knew the owner and I loved the food...

We arrived twenty minutes later... I got out first then reached out my hand to help Madison out...

We headed in...

Uncle Ricci was by the door

"Niki my boy what you doing here?" He said hugging me

"Came to have the best Italian food in America I say"

He laughed

"Who's the lovely young lady?" He said taking Maddie's hand kissing it...

She blushes

"Madison" she said shyly

"Zio stop hitting on my date..." I say [Uncle]

"Nikolai hai un appuntamento?" He asked visibly shocked... [Nikolai You're on a date?]

Uncle Ricci is Ricardo Martelli my dad's brother

"I'm sorry Madison I didn't know you're on a date with this knuckle head" he says walking away...

Madison laughs shaking her head...

I take a hold of her waist and lead her to my usual table by the window, I loved sitting by the window...

The waiter brings the menus, I knew what I would be having so I didn't really care...

I wanted the Bruschetta, it was amazing...

"Nick" Madison said softly

"Yes?" I ask

"Could you help me order I don't know half of these dishes?"

I nod, getting out of my seat and sitting next to her...

"What do you feel for?" I ask

"Pasta?" She says unsure of her answer

"You could have the pasta Carbonara its amazing my uncle makes it himself..."

She nods

"I'm trusting you on this, you're Italian after all she should know what's good" she says

I smiled...

Soon we ordered and got our wine... conversation flowed easily...

"So why did you name your son Micah?" She asked suddenly...

"Isabella my ex named after my brother" I Said

"I thought your brothers name was Quinn" she asked

"The accident that killed, Quinn's parents my brother and his nanny was in the other car it collided with, killing my other brother Micah so Isabella named him Micah..." I explain

"I'm sorry I didn't know" she apologizes

"It's okay... Don't worry about it, I got an amazing older brother from it, without Quinn I probably wouldn't be where I am today..." I say

People don't know this but Quinn helped out of an alcohol addiction and never told my parents about... I occasionally drink now, but not like I used...

She nods...

"So tell me about your brother" I say

"Tristan... He stayed in Washington DC with my grandparents until this week, he burnt the principals office down and got expelled so I brought him here to me so I could keep an eye on him... His not a bad kid but after the death of our mother and his dad, he would rebel and do all sorts of crazy things..." she explained

I nod... I know how death could change people... I understand the kid... I lost my brother and I became an alcoholic, I couldn't imagine losing both of my parents...

After that we spoke about a lot of other things... I felt that it was easy to open up to her...

After dinner we headed to the movies... We were watching can you keep a secret... I got us snacks, drinks and popcorn... And we headed into the private theatre in the building... It only had a love seat and the screen...

"How this place is amazing" Madison says in awe of the place...

We sat down and the movie started

PLOT

Emma Corrigan is a New York junior marketing representative at Panda, an organic food company, in Chicago for a sales meeting. The client declines her pitch. Emma gets drunk on the flight home and when the plane hits turbulence, she thinks she will die, and reveals her personal and professional woes to a handsome stranger, including her dissatisfaction with her boyfriend Connor. Connor meets her at the airport and suggests they move in together. She agrees but regrets it the next morning.

Back at work, Emma prepares for the visit of Panda CEO Jack Harper. When he arrives, it is the handsome stranger from the plane. He agrees not to say anything or fire her, if she in return not reveal that he was in Chicago.

In a marketing meeting Emma suggests that the target demographic for their "Panda Bites" product line should not be millennials, but the elderly. Connor and other coworkers say the product should simply be axed. Emma later asks Nick, the rep responsible for Panda Bites, for a cut of the marketing budget to test her theory.

Emma calls Connor to the archive room for spontaneous s*x in an attempt to reinvigorate their relationship. When Connor refuses, Emma breaks up with him. Jack asks her out to dinner and the two begin a passionate relationship. Jack, however, remains secretive. Emma's roommate and best friend Lissy cautions her that their relationship may be too one-sided.

Jack discusses Panda's products on television with the office watching. He describes the company's new target demographic as the "girl on the street", and going into greater detail begins describing Emma, listing all of her secrets. Although he doesn't name her, her coworkers realize it is she and begin mocking her. Jack realizes too late what he's done. Emma refuses to take his calls. When he finds her at a coffee shop, Emma demands to know why he has been going to Chicago. Jack is reluctant and Emma leaves. Lissy and their other roommate Gemma suggest Emma get even by revealing his secrets. Gemma suggests a tabloid reporter friend help find details about Chicago but Emma declines.

At a marketing meeting, boss Cybill congratulates Nick for the ad in a magazine for the elderly which has paid off. When he takes all the credit, Emma calls him out, and requests a promotion she was promised. Cybill agrees

Jack reveals the reason for his trips to Chicago: he has been working to ensure that his goddaughter stays out of the spotlight after the death of her father so she can have a normal life. Gemma arrives just then with her reporter friend and Jack leaves in anger. Emma tracks him down on a plane back to Chicago. She assures him she told the reporter nothing and expresses gratitude that he loved her when she was her true self. He then begins to reveal all of his secrets to her.]

"That movie was amazing" Madison said as we made our way out of the theatre

"I totally agree, Emma telling everyone her secrets was funny..." I say laughing...

I had thing for watching movies, I think its I work in the entertainment business...

We went for a walk around for a bit

"Nick what do you like about me?" Madison asks

I look at her, our fingers were intertwined

"I love I can talk to you don't judge me, how you went on this date with me, knowing I had a son, and that didn't bother you, I honestly feel like that makes you an amazing human being" I say honestly

"You know speaking about Micah he shocked me today, he got up in front of the class and told everyone how amazing his father is and he said it proudly" Madison said

And that made me stop and look at her

"He spoke in front of the class?" I ask shocked

She nods

"I think its because he was speaking about you... I think the fact that he wanted people to know how amazing his father is, he overcame his fear" She explains

"Well I think therapy is helping his been going for two days now" I tell her

"I'm glad his getting help... it breaks my heart every time I think about what his mother did to him..." She says

I nod... Deep in thought...
