"Kie," Victor whispered in my ear, waking me up that morning. "Kie, wake up. Cameron's gone." "Huh?" I rubbed my eye with my palm while trying to regain my sense of reality. "What do you mean?" "I mean, he packed his stuff and left while we were asleep." It felt like I heard something funny and horrific at the same time. I didn't know if it was a joke or real. I stood up out of my pile of blankets and ran out of the den, waking Liy in the process. I searched the entire territory for Cameron. In every inch and every corner, until my feet carried me back to our den. My ragged breaths turned into silent sobs before I began to weep loudly.
