Chapter 1 - Introduction
Warning : This book is extremely cringe. I wrote it when I was twelve, and I don't know what I was thinking. There are a million plot-holes, the characters do not make sense, and the scenes are very flat. Just wanted to put it out here before you spend money on it.
Evangeline
"Okay, I think I look good enough." I said sighing loudly, as I stared at my reflection in the mirror.
I was wearing a hot-pink, full sleeved dress which hugged my curves perfectly till the waist, and then flowed freely till the mid of my thighs. It had a V neckline and I had paired it with my black wedges. My long brown hair fell to my waist in natural waves.
My phone pinged, telling me that I had received a message.
Best Friend
Will be there in 5.
I replied her with a quick thumbs up and put my phone in my clutch. Before leaving the room and hurrying downstairs I made sure to look at myself one last time in the mirror; I had to ensure that everything was perfect for the perfect reunion, a wave of excitement flowing through me.
"Eva, you look stunning," my mom complimented as soon as she saw me.
"Thanks mum," I replied as the doorbell rang. I rushed to open the door but my annoying brother, Ashton, reached first and opened the door.
"Wow, Laura! You look captivating," he said to her with a flirty smirk.
"Th-Thank you," Laura stuttered, blushing profusely. She had always had a thing for my brother.
"If you're finished with your flirting, Ash, can you please move out of my way?" I said in a bored tone, pushing him to the side using both my hands.
"She's all yours," he said and retreated but not before sending a wink her way which made me roll my eyes at him but made her blush even further.
I was finally able to see her properly. She was wearing a skin tight, strap-less royal blue dress which reached till slightly above her knees. She had paired it with black pencil heels and a dark blue choker. Her long, blonde hair fell in beautiful curls to her hips and her cheerful, blue eyes were sparkling with excitement; probably due to the compliment she received from Ash.
"Wow, you look absolutely stunning." I said to her. I wasn't expecting her to look that good. I mean, my brother always over - exaggerated how good she'd be looking whenever she came over. But this time even I was left awestruck by her beauty.
"You look prettier!" She exclaimed and hugged me.
We then left for the party in her car. We were really excited, singing crazily on the way, making jokes and laughing hysterically. We were really looking forward to this party since all our close friends were going to be there.

"Lor, I think we should leave now. It's quite late," I said checking the time in my phone.
"Seriously? The party's just getting started, Eva!" She replied, dancing like a maniac.
I had warned her not to drink excessively but 'I don't get drunk' was the reply I had received. And now, there she was, dancing like a complete lunatic at 2 in the morning. Remind me why she's my best friend again? Oh yeah, 'cause she loves me to death.
"Fine. I'm leaving," I stated firmly.
"WE AIN'T NEVER GETTING OLDER!" She sang, completely ignoring me as she vigorously bobbed her head to the music. She was too lost in the music and was too drunk. At first I felt I shouldn't leave her alone in that state but then I realized that Hannah and Casey were still at the party and were sober so I knew they would take care of her.
I huffed and walked out of the house.
The night was chilly and I felt goosebumps rise on my body as soon it came into contact with the cool breeze. I sighed heavily and started walking. Damn these wedges. I'd reach home in about twenty minutes if I kept on walking continuously. I had thought I would be able to cover that distance easily but boy was I wrong. My legs were killing me already.
*****
I had already spent ten minutes walking as fast as I could and still my house was nowhere near. I mentally smacked myself for just walking out of the party thinking I would be able to reach my house on foot. My legs were now hurting really bad, my hair messy, and my makeup smudged. If only I exercised regularly. I thought to myself and vowed that I would exercise daily from the next day. Or actually I'll just avoid walking home from parties all alone. Yep, that would be easier to do.
As I was walking, lost in my thoughts, regretting my decision of walking home, I suddenly felt like a presence behind me, as if someone was following me. I knew better than to turn around and look, and thus quickening my pace, I tried to walk as fast as it was possible without alerting the person who was following me. The footsteps became faster and now I started running. I ran as fast as my legs would carry me and after a few minutes of running aimlessly, I could no more hear the sound of footsteps. As I was certain that I had lost the person, I stopped to catch my breath. That's when I noticed I had come the wrong way.
I stood paralyzed for a few moments thinking where to go. I had absolutely no idea of where I was. I looked around frantically, desperate to know where I was, but in vain. Then finally I got an idea. Thank you, Google maps! I thought, taking my phone out of my clutch.
But as soon as I was about to unlock it, someone grabbed my waist from behind. I dropped my phone, my eyes widened, as I opened my mouth to scream my lungs out but a hand quickly covered my mouth, muffling my screams. I wriggled to get free and struggled as hard as I could, however my captor was too strong. I couldn't break free. He lifted me up and now I was in the air, kicking my legs, trying to break free from his strong hold. He started walking and forced me into a luxurious, sexy and stunning, black BMW i8. Sorry, can't help it, I'm a goner when it comes to gorgeous cars. He put me in the passenger seat and as soon as I was about to see his face, he covered my eyes with a blind fold and kept a cloth on my mouth. I inhaled a sweet smell, and within seconds my eyes closed, as I drifted off into dark oblivion.
