Chapter 6

1097 Words
Zane POV ‘Dad, you remember a little after my 18th birthday, I got drunk one night?’ I asked. ‘Go on, what is the point you are trying to make, other than you did not have s*x, and you never liked the girl.’ Dad says with a frown. ‘Kyle and I went to the club and a couple of hours later she arrived there, I think she has a tracker on me or my phone or something.’ I growled out the last word in anger. Dad picks up the phone and calls Gerome. ‘Gerome, can you come to my office? Now,’ Dad says ‘We have a problem we need you to investigate.’ Dad started slowly, debating how much to say. I filled him in with the story I had just told Dad. ‘Holy crap, want me to hack into her phone?’ Gerome asks. ‘No,' Dad says, 'I want you to confiscate it and check it out. If she is doing what we think she is, the dungeons might be where she will stay until I can decide what to do with her.’ ‘Let me link her to come here, and you can take her phone.’ Karen enters the office, ‘Your phone.’ Alpha puts his hand out for the phone. Karen gets her phone out and gives it to Dad, who hands it over to Gerome. Gerome nods and leaves the room. ‘Karen, you will get your things together and move to barracks one. You are now part of the barracks kitchen staff.’ Dad ordered. 'Let’s call Peter and Harrison and Matilda, time to get the barracks in order.’ I said to Dad. We were all enjoying a meal, when Dad got the link to say the first bus had arrived. I got up and followed my dad out the door. I saw Peter, Mitch, and Harrison beside my dad watching a bus heading in our direction. For some unknown reason, my wolf Blaze is running about in my head, all excited about the bus arriving. I wondered what had got him all excited about a busload of warriors. The bus stops and the door opens, and then a most amazing smell hits my nose. Blaze roars in my head “Mate, our mate is on the bus.” I stand frozen in place, as I watch men climb off the bus and gather in front of us, and then, a tall, toned, brown-haired beauty climbs off the bus and stands with the men, they together kneel before my dad and bared their necks. ‘Mate’ Blaze growls out before I can get my head around the beauty before me. The beauty looks up and over to me and stares at me, she stands and moves closer to the man beside her and wraps her arm around his waist, and he pulls her closer to him in a protective manner. Blaze stared at the man and roared out, ‘Take your hands off my mate.’ The beauty whimpers at my rage, but the male does not move away from her, he has the nerve to growl back at me. ‘Back off man, you are scaring her.’ The man spoke calmly to me. Blaze looks back at our mate and sees fear in her eyes. This gave me the strength to take back control and then, look back at the man. ‘Let her go, I can’t hold my wolf for much longer.’ I managed to squeeze out. ‘No, you back off.’ The man calmly says back. ‘Who are you to her?’ I decided to ask. I needed to know if I had to rip his head off right now. ‘I am her twin brother.’ He is so calm it surprises me; no one is this calm when dealing with angry wolves. Hearing that he is her brother placates Blaze, and he stops fighting. He is still growling in my mind that he does not like that she traveled all the way here with un-mated wolves. ‘Son,’ I glance over at Dad, ‘Keep Blaze under control, we will need to take this gently, be the man I know you are.’ He says just as calmly as the man whose arm is still around the waist of my mate. ‘Welcome to the Silver Mountain Royal pack,’ my dad starts his spiel to those before him, ‘You may address me as either King Ezekiel or just Alpha, I am okay with either, this here is Peter, and he will assign you your rooms,’ Peter nods to the group, ‘Harrison, will give you your patrol schedules,’ Harrison nods, ‘Mitch here is the head warrior who will be in charge of you all, and Madison,’ My mate looks at dad, ‘you will meet with Mitch to discuss areas he wants you to start tracking and areas we have already cleared,’ my mate nods ‘and lastly this is Matilda, she is our head, Housekeeper, in charge of all the staff, if you have any problems with your rooms or staff members, see her first, she may look small, but she carries a hard punch.’ He chuckles as Matilda nods to the men. I am seething that Dad still intends to send out my mate to track. Oh no, no, no, that will not do, I need her home safe and, in my bed, Blaze purrs in agreement at the bed comment in my mind. Matilda goes to my mate and talks to her and the man, his arms still around her. She nods and c***s her beautiful head to the side as she listens. The man disagrees with something, and my mate talks to him. The smile she gives him makes me so jealous, I want that smile given to me. The man lets her go and kisses her on the cheek, then leaves with the others and Peter. Matilda and my dad and the girl walked into the pack-house. Fortunately, she was nearby and not in the barracks with all those un-mated males. I had to get Blaze under control, so I could approach her without trying to mark her without her permission. We both waited for her and now that the wait was over, he wanted to take what we had been waiting for. I never thought I would be the sort of person, so emotional and needy. I had always assumed, after seeing my friends after they found their mate, that it was the female who was the needy one.
