"Did you miss me?"
His question caught me off guard for a second, but only a second.
"I believe you meant- Has Melissa received a follow-up message from Malik from the time he asked her out after their first date?"
He chuckled.
"And just so you know, she hasn't gotten a single one."
He chuckled louder.
"I apologize for not sending a message. I became swamped with work after our date. After a while, I grew curious about whether you would get impatient and make the first move instead. I was rather looking forward to seeing you approach me for once."
"Sorry to prove you wrong, but I wasn't thinking about you that much."
